Description
The Buzzaround CarryOn is Golden's folding mobility scooter for travel. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets the GB120 up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Golden rates it at 300 lbs (136 kg), 3.6 mph (5.8 km/h), and 14.4 miles (23.2 km) on the 12.5 AH lithium-ion pack at 200 lbs. The 2025 kit adds a spare 6.5 AH pack at 7.5 miles (12.1 km), for a combined 21.9 miles (35.2 km) when you swap packs. Folded height is 12 inches (30.5 cm) without the seat. The heaviest piece is 47.5 lbs (21.5 kg).
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who needs a folding mobility scooter for cars, coaches, and trips where a lithium pack can travel as carry-on, and who can stay at or under 300 lbs. Families usually call us when a disassembly scooter is still too many pieces for a flight or a small trunk.
If you want a lighter heaviest piece and do not need to fold, start with the Buzzaround LT. If you want more speed and a 350 lb rating, see the EX 4-Wheel. The CarryOn is the only folder in this line. It is not a rough-terrain scooter.
- Folds to 12 inches (30.5 cm) without the seat
- 12.5 AH lithium-ion, airline-friendly as Golden prints it, plus a spare 6.5 AH pack on the current kit
- 47.5 lb (21.5 kg) main body without seat and batteries
Range, speed, and batteries
Golden's current CarryOn sell sheet rates the GB120 at 14.4 miles (23.2 km) on the 12.5 AH lithium-ion pack and 7.5 miles (12.1 km) on the 6.5 AH pack, both at 200 lbs (91 kg). Combined range when you use both packs in sequence is 21.9 miles (35.2 km). Top speed is 3.6 mph (5.8 km/h). Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten those figures. The charger is off-board. Golden asks for 6 to 8 hours after daily use.
Each pack weighs 5 lbs (2.3 kg). A 50 amp controller and rear-wheel drive move the CarryOn. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it. A USB port on the tiller charges a phone.
Portability and transport
The Buzzaround CarryOn folds to 12 inches (30.5 cm) without the seat and also splits into two pieces. Golden lists the main body at 47.5 lbs (21.5 kg) without seat and batteries, the seat at 12 lbs (5.4 kg), and each battery at 5 lbs (2.3 kg). Assembled weight is 65.5 lbs (29.7 kg). Width is 19.5 inches (50 cm). Four-point carry handles and a kickstand are standard. The rear basket holds the spare pack.
Golden calls the lithium packs airline-friendly and says they can come off as carry-on for air, sea, or train. That is still subject to the airline or cruise line. Confirm the carrier before you book. Golden's owner manual says not to operate or store the scooter in rain, snow, mist, or below-freezing temperatures.

LT, EX, LX, XL, or XLS: which Buzzaround fits
CarryOn is the folding step: lithium packs, 12 inch fold, 3.6 mph, 300 lbs. Every other Buzzaround on this site disassembles and uses sealed lead-acid batteries. The LT is the lightest disassembly scooter. The XL 4-Wheel is the compact 4 mph travel scooter. The EX 4-Wheel is the full-size U1 pack. Pick CarryOn for the fold and the airline battery. Pick another trim for more speed, more capacity, or a lighter heaviest piece.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden's printed CarryOn terms are lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on the drive train, 2 years on electronics, and 2 years on the batteries. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Buzzaround CarryOn travels up to 14.4 miles (23.2 km) on the 12.5 AH lithium-ion pack and 7.5 miles (12.1 km) on the 6.5 AH pack, both at 200 lbs (91 kg). Combined range with both packs is 21.9 miles (35.2 km).
How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?
The Buzzaround CarryOn uses an off-board charger. Golden asks for 6 to 8 hours after daily use. Charge a spare pack while you ride the other.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Buzzaround CarryOn uses removable lithium-ion packs that Golden calls airline-friendly carry-on batteries. Confirm the airline's watt-hour and spare-battery rules before you book. The scooter body itself travels as checked or gate-checked luggage only if that carrier allows it.
Can I take the Buzzaround CarryOn on a cruise?
The Buzzaround CarryOn is the scooter Golden presents for sea travel, with the lithium packs removed as carry-on. Confirm the cruise line's size, battery, and cabin rules before you sail. Golden does not promise every ship will accept it.
Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Buzzaround CarryOn owner manual says not to operate or store the scooter where it will be exposed to rain, snow, mist, or below-freezing temperatures. It is not an all-weather outdoor scooter.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a power scooter when a long-term need is confirmed through an ADP-registered therapist and an ADP-registered vendor. Westin Healthcare walks that route with you. A scooter bought before those steps is not reimbursed.
What is the difference between a 3-wheel and a 4-wheel scooter?
The Buzzaround CarryOn is a 4-wheel folding scooter with a 48.75 inch (124 cm) turning radius. A 3-wheel Buzzaround such as the LT turns in 39 inches and does not fold. Wheel count here follows the fold, not a 3-wheel option.
How small does the CarryOn fold?
The Buzzaround CarryOn folds to 12 inches (30.5 cm) high without the seat. Length stays 38 inches (97 cm). Width is 19.5 inches (50 cm).
What is the weight capacity?
The Buzzaround CarryOn is rated at 300 lbs (136 kg). Stay at or under that figure. Golden's heavier folder is the CarryOn HD, a different scooter.
What is the warranty?
The Buzzaround CarryOn carries a lifetime frame term and 2 years on the drive train, electronics, and batteries. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
