Description

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel is Golden's luxury full-size portable scooter on a three-wheel chassis. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets the GB119 up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.

Golden rates it at 375 lbs (170 kg), 5 mph (8.0 km/h), and 18 miles (29.0 km) per charge at 200 lbs on two U1 batteries. The heaviest piece is 50 lbs (22.7 kg). A quilted high-back seat with a headrest, an infinitely adjustable tiller, and a USB port sit on the same U1 platform as the EX, with more capacity and a more finished seat.

Who this scooter is for

This scooter is for a person who wants a full-size 3-wheel scooter for daily indoor and outdoor use, a 375 lb rating, and a high-back that folds for the trunk. Families usually call us when the EX seat is not enough support and the rider still needs the scooter to come apart.

If 350 lbs and the 18 by 16 high-back are enough, start with the EX 3-Wheel. The four-wheel luxury sibling is the LX 4-Wheel. The LX is not a folding airline scooter.

  • 375 lb (170 kg) rating
  • 18 miles (29.0 km) at 200 lbs on two U1 batteries
  • Quilted high-back with headrest, 17 by 16 inches

Range, speed, and batteries

Golden's current LX sell sheet rates the GB119 at up to 18 miles (29.0 km) per charge at 200 lbs (91 kg), and 5 mph (8.0 km/h). That is the two-U1 pack at the printed test weight. Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten it. The charger is off-board. Golden asks for a 12 hour first charge, then 6 to 8 hours after daily use.

A 90 amp controller and rear-wheel drive move the LX. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it. Electro-mechanical brakes hold it when you release the throttle. A USB port on the tiller charges a phone. It is not a second scooter charger.

Portability and transport

The Buzzaround LX 3-wheel comes apart into six pieces. Golden lists the front half at 50 lbs (22.7 kg), the rear half at 36 lbs (16.3 kg), the seat at 32 lbs (14.5 kg), and the two U1 packs at 48 lbs (21.8 kg) together. Assembled weight is 168 lbs (76.2 kg). Width is 22 inches (56 cm).

It is a portable full-size scooter, not a folding airline scooter. The batteries are sealed U1 units. Golden does not call the LX airline-friendly. The same Charge Deck, Y-cable, and bumper kit offered on the EX are the factory extras.

Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel specifications

These figures are for the GB119 as printed on Golden's December 2024 LX sell sheet. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Weight capacity 375 lbs (170 kg). Top speed 5 mph (8.0 km/h). Range up to 18 miles (29.0 km) at 200 lbs. Turning radius 40.5 inches (103 cm). Ground clearance under the deck 4 inches (10.2 cm). Length 45 inches (114 cm). Width 22 inches (56 cm). Tires 9 inch solid, front and rear. Standard seat 17 inches wide by 16 inches deep, quilted high-back, headrest 23 to 26 inches. Maximum recommended incline 6 degrees. Warranty: lifetime on the frame, 2 years on the drive train and electronics, 1 year on the batteries.

Colour

Use Choose Color to pick Velvet Red or Coastal Blue. Golden also offers optional shroud kits in White, Yellow, Grey, Pink, Green, and Tan. Ask us if you need a colour that is not in Choose Color. Left-hand controls have to be written on the order.

LT, EX, LX, XL, or XLS: which Buzzaround fits

LX is the luxury trim: 375 lbs, quilted high-back, USB, same 18 mile U1 pack as the EX. The EX 3-Wheel is the 350 lb step on the same chassis. The LX 4-Wheel keeps this seat and trades the 40.5 inch turn for a 54 inch turn and a 57 lb front half. Compact riders should look at the XL 3-Wheel or the LT first. A 3-wheel is the indoor choice; a 4-wheel is the outdoor-stability choice.

Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this scooter across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the tiller, charger, USB port, and freewheel lever before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Buzzaround LX 3-wheel first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

This mobility scooter is a full-size portable. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Golden manufacturer warranty

Golden's printed LX terms are lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on the drive train, 2 years on electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.

Frequently asked questions

How far can a mobility scooter go?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel travels up to 18 miles (29.0 km) per charge at 200 lbs (91 kg) on two U1 batteries. Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten that figure.

How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel uses an off-board charger. Golden asks for 12 hours on a new pack, then 6 to 8 hours after daily use, overnight when you can.

Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel uses sealed U1 batteries and is not presented by Golden as an airline scooter. For a flight, start with the Buzzaround CarryOn and still confirm the airline's battery rules.

Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?

The Golden Buzzaround LX owner manual says not to climb a slope covered with snow, ice, salt, cut grass, or wet grass, and the 6 degree incline limit still applies. It is not an all-weather outdoor scooter.

Does ADP cover scooters?

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a power scooter when a long-term need is confirmed through an ADP-registered therapist and an ADP-registered vendor. Westin Healthcare walks that route with you. A scooter bought before those steps is not reimbursed.

What is the difference between a 3-wheel and a 4-wheel scooter?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel turns in 40.5 inches (103 cm). The LX 4-wheel turns in 54 inches (137 cm) and carries a 57 lb front half instead of 50 lb. Capacity, speed, and the 18 mile U1 range stay the same.

What is the difference between the Buzzaround EX and LX?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel is the luxury trim: 375 lbs, a quilted 17 by 16 high-back with a headrest, USB on the tiller, and a 50 lb front half. The EX 3-wheel is 350 lbs with an 18 by 16 high-back and a 46 lb front half. Both use two U1 batteries and print 18 miles at 200 lbs.

Does the Buzzaround LX have a high-back seat?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel ships with a quilted high-back seat and a headrest. Seat size is 17 inches wide by 16 inches deep. A 20 by 18 stadium seat is the factory option.

Will it fit through a doorway?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel is 22 inches (56 cm) wide. A typical interior door is about 32 inches. Measure tight hall turns against the 40.5 inch turning radius.

What is the warranty?

The Golden Buzzaround LX 3-wheel carries a lifetime frame term, 2 years on the drive train and electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
