Description
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD is a heavy-duty travel scooter on a four-wheel chassis. Westin Healthcare delivers and sets the GB124-SHZ up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Golden Canada's 2026 brochure rates the 4-wheel XLS-HD at 325 lbs (147 kg), 4 mph (6.4 km/h), and 9 miles (14.5 km) per charge at 200 lbs on two 12 AH batteries. The heaviest piece is 40 lbs (18.1 kg). Comfort spring suspension with a manually adjustable rear preload is the trim that separates it from the 300 lb XL 4-wheel.
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who wants a compact four-wheel that still splits for the trunk, needs more than 300 lbs, and wants spring suspension under a 20 inch-wide deck. Families usually call us when the XL 4-wheel rating is short and a full-size EX is more scooter than the car can take.
If 300 lbs is enough, start with the XL 4-Wheel. If you want U1 batteries and 350 lbs, see the EX 4-Wheel. The XLS HD does not fold.
- 325 lb (147 kg) rating
- 9 miles (14.5 km) at 200 lbs on two 12 AH batteries
- Comfort spring suspension, 40 lb (18.1 kg) heaviest piece
Range, speed, and batteries
Golden Canada's current mobility brochure rates the GB124-SHZ at up to 9 miles (14.5 km) per charge at 200 lbs (91 kg) on the standard 12 AH pack, and 4 mph (6.4 km/h). The 3-wheel XLS-HD page still prints an XR 22 AH option with a longer marketing range. Ask us before you count on that pack on a 4-wheel order. Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten the printed 9 miles. The charger is off-board. Golden asks for a 12 hour first charge, then 6 to 8 hours after daily use.
A 50 amp controller and rear-wheel drive move the XLS HD. Freewheel mode lets a helper push it. A USB port on the wraparound Delta tiller charges a phone.
Portability and transport
The Buzzaround XLS HD 4-wheel comes apart in four steps into five pieces. Golden lists the front half at 40 lbs (18.1 kg), the rear half at 28 lbs (12.7 kg), and the seat at 21 lbs (9.5 kg). Assembled weight on the Canada brochure is 105 lbs (47.6 kg). Width is 20 inches (51 cm).
It is a compact heavy-duty travel scooter, not a folding airline scooter. The batteries are sealed 12 AH units. Golden does not call the XLS HD airline-friendly.

LT, EX, LX, XL, or XLS: which Buzzaround fits
XLS HD is the compact heavy-duty step: 325 lbs, 4 inch deck, spring suspension, 9 miles, 44 inch turn. The XL 4-Wheel is the 300 lb sibling without that suspension. The EX 4-Wheel is the jump to U1 batteries, 350 lbs, and 18 miles. The LX 4-Wheel is the luxury high-back at 375 lbs. A 4-wheel tracks straighter outdoors; a 3-wheel is the tighter indoor tool.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this scooter across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the tiller, charger, and freewheel lever before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a Buzzaround XLS HD first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This mobility scooter does not use the Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods. If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Golden manufacturer warranty
Golden's printed XLS-HD terms are lifetime limited on the frame, 2 years on the drive train, 2 years on electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD travels up to 9 miles (14.5 km) per charge at 200 lbs (91 kg) on two 12 AH batteries, as printed on Golden Canada's 2026 brochure. Heavier riders, hills, and cold weather shorten that figure.
How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD uses an off-board charger. Golden asks for 12 hours on a new pack, then 6 to 8 hours after daily use, overnight when you can.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD uses sealed 12 AH batteries and is not presented by Golden as an airline scooter. For a flight, start with the Buzzaround CarryOn and still confirm the airline's battery rules.
Can you use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Golden Buzzaround XL series owner manual says not to climb a slope covered with snow, ice, salt, cut grass, or wet grass, and the 6 degree incline limit still applies. The XLS HD is not an all-weather outdoor scooter.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a power scooter when a long-term need is confirmed through an ADP-registered therapist and an ADP-registered vendor. Westin Healthcare walks that route with you. A scooter bought before those steps is not reimbursed.
What is the difference between a 3-wheel and a 4-wheel scooter?
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD sold here is the 4-wheel GB124-SHZ. It turns in 44 inches (112 cm) and uses a 40 lb front half. Golden also makes a 3-wheel XLS-HD (GB121-SHZ), a different scooter. A 4-wheel tracks straighter outdoors; a 3-wheel is the tighter indoor tool.
What does XLS HD mean on a Buzzaround?
On the Golden Buzzaround XLS HD, HD is the 325 lb compact trim with Comfort Spring Suspension. It is not the 300 lb XL and it is not the 350 lb EX.
How much weight can the Buzzaround XLS HD hold?
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD is rated at 325 lbs (147 kg). Stay at or under that figure.
Does the Buzzaround XLS HD fold?
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD does not fold. It disassembles into five pieces. The folding scooter in this line is the CarryOn.
What is the warranty?
The Golden Buzzaround XLS HD carries a lifetime frame term, 2 years on the drive train and electronics, and 1 year on the batteries. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
