The HealthCraft knurled grab bar is HealthCraft's Easy Mount wall bar in knurled #304 stainless, made in Ottawa, Ontario. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and across Ontario. HealthCraft prints a 1.25 in (32 mm) rail, a 9-hole flange, and 500 lb (227 kg) on the 12, 18, and 24 in bars. The 32 and 42 in knurled bars are 400 lb (181 kg).

The default bar is G125SK12F9, HealthCraft's 12 in knurled each, also sold as GB-12-SK. The chrome sibling is the HealthCraft Easy Mount chrome. This is not a clamp-on tub rail.

Length, grip, and capacity

Use Choose Size for 12 in (GB-12-SK / G125SK12F9), 18 in (GB-18-SK), 24 in (GB-24-SK), 32 in (GB-32-SK), or 42 in (GB-42-SK). HealthCraft measures length from flange centre to flange centre.

The 12, 18, and 24 in knurled bars are 500 lb (227 kg). The 32 and 42 in knurled bars are 400 lb (181 kg). Stay at or under the rating for the length you order. The rail is 1.25 in (31.75 mm) and sits 1.50 in (38 mm) off the wall. HealthCraft prints a limited lifetime warranty and says the bar is not intended for outdoor use.

Installation, as HealthCraft prints it

HealthCraft's 9-hole explainer says proper installation means the bar is firmly secured into a wall stud. Best practice is three screws on each flange. HealthCraft includes #10 x 2 in stainless steel wood screws. Use a stud finder, mark the holes, drill pilots, fasten the screws, slide the flange cover on, then check that the bar is firm. Follow the HealthCraft instruction sheet in the carton.

HealthCraft's safety lines: do not install into metal studs; make sure the wall structure is sound; do not install in fiberglass or acrylic showers without reinforcement. If there is no stud where you need the bar, HealthCraft's own next product is the Easy Mount Hollow Wall Anchor, sold separately, rated 300 lb (136 kg) for drywall, drywall with tile, or fiberglass when the wall matches HealthCraft's thickness bands and there is at least 3 1/2 in of space behind the wall. That anchor is only for HealthCraft Easy Mount and PLUS Series flanges. We can order it. We will not invent another brand of drywall toggle.

Knurled or chrome HealthCraft

This bar is the knurled stainless Easy Mount. The HealthCraft Easy Mount chrome is the polished CP finish in 12, 18, and 24 in, all 500 lb. An AquaSense or EZee Life chrome knurled bar is a thinner chrome-plated line, not 1.25 in #304. A clamp-on tub rail, such as the Drive 12036, grips the tub wall and does not use these flanges.
