One mat covers a rise of up to 2-1/2 inches out of the box. Because it is solid rubber, it can be trimmed or notched on site to match a lower sill or to fit around door frames, and it works indoors or outdoors.

Which thresholds this mat fits

The mat itself, article TMEM 2.5-1, is 24 inches deep, 48 inches wide, and 2-1/2 inches high. It handles most single residential doorways as-is:

• Rise up to 2-1/2 inches: one mat, placed tight against the sill.
• Rise between 2-1/2 and 4-3/4 inches: two mats plus one riser pair (TMEMR 2.25). The two risers sit side by side under the upper mat and the second mat sits in front, per the EZ-ACCESS fitting instructions.
• Wide or double doors: two mats side by side; each mat is 48 inches wide.

Modular Entry Mat specifications

Both articles are moulded from 100 percent recycled rubber with a slip-resistant surface and carry an 850 lb rated load, so they take a powered wheelchair or scooter without flexing. Choosing between the two articles on this page

The Select Mat Size choice on this page sells the two factory articles:

• 2.5" Modular Entry Mat (TMEM 2.5-1): the mat itself, one per box. This is what most entries need.
• 2.25" Modular Entry Mat Riser pair (TMEMR 2.25): a pair of 24 x 24 inch risers used only to build height under a second mat. A riser pair on its own is not a threshold surface.
