The Interstate DCM0018 battery is a 12V 18Ah (20-hour) deep-cycle AGM cell with insert terminals. Interstate lists it on the Deep Cycle Mobility table. Westin Healthcare sells the single cell in Brampton and can match the terminal across the Greater Toronto Area.
Who this mobility scooter battery is for
Travel scooters run two 12V cells in series. The Interstate DCM0018 is the 18Ah mobility deep-cycle cell, 7.13 x 2.99 x 6.30 in (181 x 76 x 160 mm) with a 6.50 in height including the insert terminal. Pride prints an 18Ah pair on the Go-Go Sport and as an option on the Go-Go Elite Traveller 2. Pride does not print DCM0018. The posts must be insert (internal thread). A nut-and-bolt 18Ah cell is the Interstate SLA1116, a different series.
- Use this cell when the old battery is 12V 18Ah with insert terminals
- Do not order this cell for a Faston 18Ah box or a nut-and-bolt box
- Golden Buzzaround XL and XLS print 12Ah or optional 22Ah, not 18Ah. Do not treat those as DCM0018 fits

Terminals, chemistry, and size
Interstate's Deep Cycle Mobility table prints DCM0018 as 18Ah at the 20-hour rate, no BCI group, 7.13 in long, 2.99 in wide, 6.30 in high, 6.50 in including the terminal, insert. Chemistry is sealed AGM for mobility cycling. Replace both 12V cells together.
SLA, AGM, gel, and the size ladder
DCM0018 is Interstate Deep Cycle Mobility AGM, not gel. The general-purpose 18Ah twin is the SLA1116 nut-and-bolt cell. The 12Ah mobility step is the DCM0012 F2 cell. Group 22NF mobility AGM is the DCM0055. Gel is the GEL0055.

These figures are for Westin SKU DCM0018. The specification tab should follow Interstate's Deep Cycle Mobility table: 12V, 18Ah at the 20-hour rate, 7.13 x 2.99 x 6.30 in (181 x 76 x 160 mm), height with terminal 6.50 in, insert terminals, no BCI group. Interstate does not print a weight or a year warranty on that table.

The current Westin specification line for this cell is a 1-year limited warranty. Interstate's Deep Cycle Mobility table does not print a year term. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
What battery does my scooter take?
The Interstate DCM0018 is a 12V 18Ah insert-terminal deep-cycle mobility cell. Pride prints 18Ah on the Go-Go Sport and as an Elite Traveller 2 option. Confirm insert posts. Nut-and-bolt 18Ah is SLA1116. Faston 18Ah is a different code.
Do I need two batteries for a scooter?
Yes. A 24V travel scooter uses two 12V batteries in series. The Interstate DCM0018 is sold as one cell. Replace both cells together.
How long do mobility scooter batteries last?
Interstate does not print a year life for DCM0018. When range falls off after a full charge, replace both 12V cells and use the charger the scooter maker lists (2A on those Pride travel scooters).
Can I replace scooter batteries myself?
Pride travel scooters with a drop-in box are written so a dealer or a careful owner can swap the pair from that scooter's owner manual. Westin can do the swap. Match the leads and do not short the insert posts.
Is DCM0018 the same as SLA1116?
No. Both are 12V 18Ah AGM in a similar envelope. DCM0018 is Interstate Deep Cycle Mobility with insert terminals. SLA1116 is Interstate General Purpose with nut-and-bolt posts.
Does this fit a Golden Buzzaround XL?
Golden prints 12Ah standard and optional 22Ah XR on the XL and XLS, not 18Ah. Do not order DCM0018 for those chairs unless the cell in the box is actually an 18Ah insert, which Golden does not list.
Is this a group 24 gel battery?
No. DCM0018 has no BCI group. Group 24 gel and AGM packs are the larger outdoor-scooter and powerchair size.
