Description
The Drive 15006 is Drive Medical's standard innerspring hospital-bed mattress, sold as the Innerspring Mattress. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it on the bed for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is the firm coil surface that Drive packs with many Delta bed kits: 36 inches wide, 6 inches thick, 350 lb rating, waterproof vinyl cover.
This is an innerspring mattress, not a therapeutic foam surface. There is no die-cut foam core and no pump. Drive lists three SKUs that match the picker: 15006 (36 x 80 standard), 15006EF (36 x 80 extra firm), and 15014 (36 x 84 extra firm). Drive's current sheet lists a 1-year warranty.
Who this mattress is for
This mattress is for a person who wants a firm, familiar coil feel on a 36-inch hospital bed, and who has not been asked to move to a pressure-redistribution foam or air surface. It is the basic surface Drive pairs with the Drive Delta 1000 and the Drive Delta 15235 in factory packages.
Choose 15006 when you need a wipe-clean innerspring on an 80-inch deck. If a therapist has asked for zoned foam, step up to the Gravity 7. If they have asked for a sloped heel and a 400 lb foam rating, see the Gravity 8. This mattress is not a bariatric surface and it is not 42 inches wide.
- Home care on a 36-inch hospital bed when a firm innerspring is what was asked for
- A short recovery when a basic vinyl-covered coil mattress is enough
- Anyone who wants extra-firm coils (15006EF or 15014) instead of the standard 15006
Construction and how it works
Drive builds this mattress around an innerspring unit. The standard 15006 has a 1-inch high-density, firm, combustion-modified fiber topper on each side. The extra-firm SKUs (15006EF and 15014) add a second 1-inch topper on top and keep one 1-inch topper on the bottom. The cover is waterproof, anti-static vinyl.
Coils give a firmer, springier feel than Gravity foam. They do not immerse the heels the way a die-cut or memory-foam top does. If the care plan names pressure redistribution, this is the wrong therapy class.
Drive 15006 specifications
These figures are for the Drive innerspring family we sell. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's current sheet lists a 350 lb weight capacity and overall dimensions of 80 x 36 x 6 inches for the standard mattress. The 84-inch extra-firm SKU is 15014. HCPCS on the Drive card is E0271.
Drive's current sheet lists a 1-year warranty for the original purchaser. Drive does not print a CFR 1632 / 1633 line on this sheet, so we do not claim one here.
Choose Size
Use Choose Size to set the Drive SKU. The picker lists:
- 36" (Width) X 80" (Length) X 6" (Height), Drive 15006 standard
- 36" (Width) X 80" (Length) X 6" (Height) Extra Firm, Drive 15006EF
- 36" (Width) X 84" (Length) X 6" (Height) Extra Firm, Drive 15014
Match the length to the sleep deck. Drive does not currently list a standard-firm 84-inch innerspring on this card, only the extra-firm 15014. There is no 42-inch innerspring in this family.
Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds or mattresses, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), hardship funding programs, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, and check the fit before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a mattress first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased mattresses are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital mattresses are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the mattress is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Which Westin beds this mattress fits
Drive 15006 in 36 x 80 fits the Drive Delta 1000, the Drive Delta 15235, and the Drive 15005LP. The 84-inch 15014 fits those frames after a deck extension. It does not fit a 42-, 48-, or 54-inch bariatric bed.
Service and warranty
When something on the mattress needs work, you call the shop that delivered it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Drive manufacturer warranty
Drive's current innerspring sheet covers the original purchaser with a 1-year warranty. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an innerspring or a foam mattress?
Innerspring. Drive's 15006 family is a coil mattress with fiber toppers and a vinyl cover. It is not a Gravity foam mattress. If you were sent here for a foam surface, open the Gravity 7 page instead.
How is 15006 different from Gravity 7?
15006 is coils and fiber. Gravity 7 is three layers of latex-free foam with a die-cut top and a visco heel section. Gravity 7 is the pressure-redistribution step up from this mattress on the same 36-inch deck.
How do I clean the 15006 cover?
Drive lists a waterproof, anti-static vinyl cover. Wipe it with a mild detergent and let it dry. Do not put the mattress through a washing machine.
What is the weight rating on Drive 15006?
Drive's current sheet lists 350 lbs. Some dealer cards print a lower number. We use Drive's 350 lb figure. If the person is near that limit, ask us about a bariatric foam surface on a wider bed.
What size 15006 fits a standard hospital bed?
A 36 x 80 deck takes 15006 or 15006EF. An 84-inch extended deck takes 15014 extra firm. Measure the deck before you pick Choose Size.
Does this mattress have a pump or make noise?
There is no pump. You may hear coils the way you would on any innerspring mattress. There is no motor.
What is the warranty on Drive 15006?
Drive's current sheet lists a 1-year warranty for the original purchaser. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work.
Can funding help pay for this mattress in Ontario?
Several Ontario funding routes can help with a therapeutic support surface. Eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. A basic innerspring is not always the surface a funding assessor names. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will point you to the right route before anyone starts paperwork.
Can I rent a mattress like this before I buy?
Westin Healthcare rents hospital beds with a therapeutic medical mattress included. See current packages on the hospital bed rentals page. If you later buy a 15006, ask about the Rental to Purchase First Month Credit program so we can apply the program rules.
What is included with the Drive 15006?
You get the Drive innerspring mattress in the size and firmness you pick under Choose Size. The bed frame, metal rails, and any foam upgrade are sold on the bed pages.
What is the difference between standard and Extra Firm?
Standard 15006 has one 1-inch fiber topper on each side. Extra Firm (15006EF and 15014) has two 1-inch toppers on top and one on the bottom. That is Drive's wording on the current sheet.
