Description
The Blake Core is a simple 6 inch Canadian foam hospital mattress: a 4 inch firm foam base and a 2 inch plush polyurethane top, with firm side bolsters. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it on the bed for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Official sizes on this page are 36 by 80 inches (CORE3680) and a 35 inch custom (CORE3580).
Blake's current Core page says the mattress is intended for people whose skin integrity is not the concern, who still want a comfortable, supportive sleep surface. If skin care is the reason for the call, do not start here. Look at the Blake Serene for a cooler foam, or the G1 Single Zone when a clinician has asked for gel at the seat.
Who this mattress is for
This mattress is for a person on a 36 inch (or 35 inch) hospital-style bed who needs a wipeable medical foam surface and does not need zoned gel or a pump. Blake is clear that skin integrity is not the design target. It suits short recoveries, guest rooms that need a hospital deck, and anyone replacing a worn innerspring on a homecare frame.
Families usually call us when they need a straightforward foam to go with a new hospital bed and the therapist has not asked for a therapeutic class. If the person is already showing redness, step up before you buy the Core.
- 36 inch homecare decks such as the Drive Delta 1000
- 35 inch decks that need CORE3580
- Users within Blake's 350 lb standard rating, or the 500 lb custom build when we order it that way
Construction and how it works
The Core is a non-powered foam mattress. Blake's current page describes a 4 inch single-density foam base, a 2 inch polyurethane foam topper, and firm side bolsters. The cover is 4-way stretch, antimicrobial, fluid-proof, and wipeable. There is no gel sheet and no pump.
The firm base keeps the surface from bottoming out. The plush top is for comfort. The borders help with sitting and standing.
Blake Core specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU CORE3680 and the 35 inch CORE3580. The specification tab holds the stored values. Blake's current Core page lists a 6 inch height, standard size 36 by 80 inches, custom width 35 inches, product code Core(+size), a 350 lb / 160 kg standard capacity, a 500 lb / 227 kg custom capacity, and a warranty of 5 years on the mattress and 1 year on the cover.
Blake's live custom list for the Core is 35 inches only. Wider decks need a different Blake model.
Size options
Use Choose Mattress Size:
- Core 36”W x 80”L x 6”H (CORE3680)
- Core 36”W x 80”L x 6”H, CUSTOM (CORE3580)
The second line is Blake's 35 inch custom. The picker label still shows 36 inches; the code CORE3580 is the 35 inch build. Confirm the deck before you pick it. A 36 inch Core fits the Drive Delta 1000 and the Harmony 8199.
Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds or mattresses, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), hardship funding programs, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, and show you the cover and the firm borders before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a mattress first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased mattresses are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital mattresses are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the mattress is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Which Westin beds this mattress fits
A 36 by 80 inch Core fits Westin's 36 inch homecare frames, including the Drive Delta 1000, the Drive Delta 15235, and the Harmony 8199. It does not fit a 42 inch or wider deck. Ask us about Serene or Infusion for those widths.
Service and warranty
When something on the mattress needs work, you call the shop that set it up. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Blake Medical manufacturer warranty
Blake's current Core page states 5 years on the mattress and 1 year on the cover. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Core a pressure-injury mattress?
Blake's current page says it is for people whose skin integrity is not the concern. It is a comfort foam with a medical cover. If a clinician has named a pressure-injury stage, choose a G-series, Infusion, or powered Blake surface instead.
Does this mattress need a pump?
No. The Core is non-powered.
How do I clean the cover?
Blake specifies a 4-way stretch, antimicrobial, fluid-proof, wipeable cover. Wipe it with the disinfectant your clinician allows.
What is the weight rating?
Blake's current Core page lists 350 lbs / 160 kg standard and 500 lbs / 227 kg custom. Tell us the person's weight when you order.
What sizes can I get?
36 by 80 inches (CORE3680) and Blake's 35 inch custom (CORE3580). Wider decks need another model.
How is the Core different from the Serene?
Both are 6 inch two-layer foams. The Serene uses a 2 inch temperature-stable Serene foam top and is sold in widths through 60 inches. The Core uses a plush polyurethane top and is a 36 or 35 inch mattress.
Is there a pump to hear at night?
No. There is no pump.
What is the warranty?
Blake's current Core page states 5 years on the mattress and 1 year on the cover. Westin Healthcare processes the warranty work.
Can funding help pay for this mattress in Ontario?
Several Ontario funding routes can help with a therapeutic support surface. Eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Can I try a Core before I buy?
Blake invites distributors to arrange a trial. Ask us when you call.
What is included?
You get the Blake Core mattress in CORE3680 or CORE3580, with the 4-way stretch cover on it. The bed frame is sold separately.
