Description
The Ezee Life CH1092 is a 24 inch heavy duty folding wheelchair from Canadian Med Healthcare. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. This is a standard wheelchair with 24 inch rear wheels and pushrims. The person in the seat can self-propel, or a caregiver can push from the handles.
Ezee Life's current CH1092 page lists a 24 inch by 18 inch seat, a 19.5 inch seat height, a 400 lb weight capacity, and a 43 lb steel frame. Front casters are 8 inches. Tires are solid and flat-free. Armrests and footrests come off. Elevating legrests are optional.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who needs a wider than average seat and a 400 lb rating, and who may still self-propel on 24 inch wheels. Families usually call us when a 20 or 22 inch wheelchair is too narrow, or when a transport chair with small rear wheels would leave the person unable to wheel themselves.
If 22 inches is enough width, see the Ezee Life CH1091. If you only need a companion-pushed chair with small rear wheels, look at a transport chair such as the Drive 22 inch BTR22 instead of this CH1092. If you want another everyday self-propel frame, see the Drive Cruiser X4 and the rest of our standard wheelchairs.
- A 24 inch seat and a 400 lb rating
- Someone who may self-propel, or who may be pushed
- Short trips, loaner use, or a basic folding chair at home
Design and build
The CH1092 is a steel folding frame. Pull up on the seat to fold it for the car or a closet. The rear wheels are 24 inches with pushrims, which is how the person self-propels. Front casters are 8 inches. Tires are solid, so there is no inner tube to flatten.
Armrests come off for a side transfer. Footrests swing away and come off. The user manual also covers optional elevating legrests if those are on the order. Upholstery is embossed PVC vinyl. Ezee Life describes this model as a practical chair for short excursions, basic transportation, and institutional loaner use, not as an all-day ultra-light rigid frame.
- Folding steel frame
- 24 inch rear wheels with pushrims
- 8 inch casters and solid tires
- Removable armrests and footrests
- Optional elevating legrests
- PVC vinyl upholstery

Funding help for a manual wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a manual wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, unfold it, and show you the brakes, the fold, and the footrests before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Ezee Life covers the original purchaser for one year against manufacturing defects, faulty materials, and workmanship. The user manual names Factory Direct Medical as the warranty desk. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Is the CH1092 a transport chair or a standard wheelchair?
It is a standard wheelchair. Ezee Life's own page titles it "CH1092 Standard 24 inch Wheelchair" and also calls it heavy duty. It sits with the standard models, not with the transport chairs (those are CH1041 to CH1044). The 24 inch rear wheels and pushrims are the giveaway. A transport chair has small rear wheels and is pushed by a companion only.
Who can self-propel this chair?
A person who can reach the pushrims and has the arm strength for their own terrain can self-propel. A caregiver can still push from the handles. Ezee Life writes that this model provides independent or dependent mobility.
What are the pushrims for?
Pushrims are the metal hoops on the 24 inch rear wheels. The person in the seat holds those hoops to roll, slow, or turn the chair. They are the difference between a self-propel wheelchair and a companion-only transport chair.
Will this chair fold into a car trunk?
The steel frame folds. Ezee Life prints 34 by 12 by 36 inches in the box and 43 lbs for the chair plus 3.6 lbs for the footrests. That is heavier than an 18 or 20 inch steel chair. Two people and a larger trunk or hatch make the lift easier. Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want to try the fold on your vehicle.
How should the 24 inch seat fit?
Measure the person's hip width and leave a little room on each side. Ezee Life lists 24 inches wide by 18 inches deep. If 24 inches is too wide, look at the 22 inch CH1091 or the 20 inch CH1094.
What is the weight capacity?
Ezee Life lists 400 lbs for CH1092. If the person is near 400 lbs, tell us before we book delivery so we can confirm the chair is the right class.
Why 24 inch wheels instead of 12 inch transport wheels?
24 inch wheels with pushrims let the person wheel themselves and roll more easily over small thresholds. They make the chair wider, heavier, and harder to lift than a transport chair. Choose 24 inch wheels when independence matters. Choose a transport chair when a companion will always push and you want a lighter lift.
Can I get elevating legrests on the CH1092?
Yes. Ezee Life lists optional elevating legrests on the CH1092 page, and the user manual shows how they raise, lower, and adjust. Use Choose Legrest to set swing-away or elevating hangers.
What is the warranty on the CH1092?
One year against manufacturing defects, faulty materials, and workmanship, for the original purchaser. Wear, accident, misuse, and improper assembly are not covered. Westin Healthcare processes the claim. Details are on our service and repairs page.
Does funding help with this wheelchair in Ontario?
Some Ontario routes can help with mobility equipment, and eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy. We will point you to the right path for your case.
Can I rent a wheelchair before I buy?
Westin Healthcare rents chairs for short-term needs. See the folding wheelchair rental page and the transport wheelchair rental page. A rental chair may be a different model than the CH1092. Call (905) 451-7743 to check what is on the floor.
What is included with CH1092?
You get the 24 inch steel folding wheelchair with removable armrests and swing-away footrests. Use Choose Legrest if the order needs elevating hangers. A cushion is not listed as included on Ezee Life's page.
