Description
The Afiscooter C3+ scooter is Afikim's 3-wheel mid-size outdoor and indoor scooter. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
Afikim rates the C3+ at 135 kg (297 lb), 10-15 km/h (6.2-9.3 mph), and 40-45 km (25-28 miles) on the official table. Ground clearance is 10 cm (4 in). The turning radius is 128 cm (50 in). This is the tighter-turning C-line scooter, not the 4-wheel C4+ and not the heavier S-line.
Who this scooter is for
This 3 wheel mobility scooter is for a person who wants a mid-size Afikim for sidewalks, shops, and light outdoor paths, and who fits an 18 inch seat and a 297 lb rating. Families usually call us when a travel scooter feels small outdoors, but a full-size S-line scooter is more scooter than they need.
If you want the same C-line ride with four wheels, see the Afiscooter C4+. If you need 450 lb, 5 inches of clearance, or golf tyres, start with the Afiscooter S3+. The C3+ is not a folding travel scooter and it does not go in a car trunk.
- 3-wheel mid-size, 50 inch turning radius
- 135 kg (297 lb) rating and an 18 inch seat
- Indoor and outdoor Class B use as Afikim states it
Range, speed, and batteries
Afikim lists a travel range of 40-45 km (25-28 miles) for the C3+. The C+ manual says that under normal conditions the C-line can travel about 40 km (27 miles) before a recharge, and that slopes, rough ground, and kerbs shorten that figure. Top speed is 10-15 km/h (6.2-9.3 mph). The upper number is limited by the country you ride in.
The C3+ takes two 12 V sealed gel batteries, up to 85 Ah. Use Choose Batteries to pick Group 22 Gel 55 AH or Group 24 Gel 74 AH. The 8 Amp charger plugs into the right side of the tiller. Charge overnight at the end of the day. After a long time in storage, Afikim asks for at least 24 hours on charge before you drive. Batteries are not in the base price.
Portability and transport
The Afiscooter C3+ is a full-size mid-size scooter, not an airline or car-trunk scooter. Without batteries Afikim lists 75 kg (165 lb). The C+ manual lists the power unit at 25 kg (55 lb) if the scooter is taken apart, the seat at about 21 kg (46 lb), and each battery at least 14 kg (31 lb). The tiller folds. Folded height is about 80 cm (31.7 in). That fold is for storage height, not for lifting the scooter into a sedan.
Plan on Westin delivery, a van or pickup, or a scooter lift. Afikim says the C3+ is not intended as a seat in a motor vehicle.

C-line or S-line, 3-wheel or 4-wheel
The C-line is Afikim's mid-size indoor and outdoor pair. The S-line is the heavier outdoor pair. The C3+ turns in 128 cm (50 in). The Afiscooter C4+ adds a fourth wheel and a 170 cm (67 in) turn for a more planted outdoor ride. Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Afikim manufacturer warranty
Afikim states that every Afiscooter is covered for a minimum of one year, and that the local dealer policy applies in Canada. We handle the claim with you. Afikim describes batteries as wear items to replace about every 2-3 years, after about 300-400 full charge cycles, or when the distance on a charge becomes short.
Frequently asked questions
How far can a mobility scooter go?
The Afiscooter C3+ is listed by Afikim at 40-45 km (25-28 miles) on a charge. The C+ manual says about 40 km (27 miles) under normal conditions, and less on slopes, rough ground, or kerbs.
How long does a mobility scooter take to charge?
The Afiscooter C3+ uses the 8 Amp charger on the right side of the tiller. Afikim's routine is to charge overnight at the end of the day. After long storage, charge at least 24 hours before you drive.
Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?
The Afiscooter C3+ is not an airline travel scooter. It is a 165 lb mid-size scooter without batteries, with two large 12 V gel batteries. Afikim does not publish an airline approval for this model.
Can I put a mobility scooter in a car?
The Afiscooter C3+ does not fit in a car trunk. Length is 130 cm (51 in) and width is 67 cm (26 in). Use Westin delivery, a van or pickup, or a scooter lift.
Can I use a mobility scooter in the rain?
The Afiscooter C3+ will operate in light rain showers. Afikim does not recommend extended use in heavy rain or snow. The optional windshield canopy adds cover from sun and light rain. It is not a sealed cabin.
Can I use a mobility scooter in winter?
The Afiscooter C3+ is rated to operate down to -30 C (-22 F). Afikim says do not store the batteries below 0 C, and that storage below 10 C reduces runtime. Keep the scooter dry and charge it indoors when you can.
What is the difference between 3-wheel and 4-wheel mobility scooters?
The Afiscooter C3+ is the 3-wheel C-line scooter with a 128 cm (50 in) turning radius for tighter indoor turns. The Afiscooter C4+ is the 4-wheel sister with a 170 cm (67 in) turn and a more planted outdoor stance.
Does ADP cover scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can fund a mobility scooter after an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist. Talk to Westin before you buy. The funding section above is the starting point.
Do I need a licence for a mobility scooter?
Afikim states that mobility scooters do not require a driving licence. Follow local sidewalk and path rules in Brampton and the GTA.
How often do mobility scooter batteries need replacing?
Afikim says to replace Afiscooter C3+ batteries about every 2-3 years, after about 300-400 full charge cycles, or when the distance on a charge becomes short.
