Description
The Pride Baja Bandit scooter is a 4-wheel off-road mobility scooter for packed paths, grass, and light trail use in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Pride rates the Baja Bandit (BA140) at 400 lbs (181 kg), up to 8 mph (12.9 km/h), and up to 29 miles (46.7 km) on the 40 Ah lithium pack at 220 lbs.
This is Pride's newest compact Baja, and it is a 4-wheel only. About 4.5 in (11.3 cm) of mid-deck clearance, 9 in solid tires, a 53 in (135 cm) turning radius, and feather-touch disassembly are how it leaves the Wrangler. It is an all-terrain mobility scooter Canada riders use when they want Baja clearance without a dual-motor trail chassis. Range and speed change with rider weight, terrain, and battery charge.
Who this scooter is for
This off-road mobility scooter is for a person who wants a 400 lb Baja, 4.45 in of mid-deck clearance, and a 71 lb (32 kg) front section that comes off for a vehicle. Families usually call us when a Pursuit-class outdoor scooter feels low on clearance and a Wrangler feels too large.
If you want a 450 lb dual-motor trail platform, see the Pride Baja Wrangler 2. If you want a faster 3-wheel street Baja, see the Pride Baja Raptor 2 3-Wheel. The Bandit is not a 3-wheel and it is not a 500 lb Maxima.
- 400 lb (181 kg) rating and an 18 in by 17 in stadium seat
- 4.45 in (11.3 cm) mid-deck clearance and 9 in solid tires
- Feather-touch disassembly; heaviest piece 71 lbs (32 kg)
Range, speed, and batteries
Pride's BA140 spec sheet lists a top speed of 8 mph (12.9 km/h). Range on the 20 Ah lithium pack is up to 14.5 miles (23.3 km) at 220 lbs and up to 11.25 miles (18.1 km) at 400 lbs. Range on the 40 Ah pack is up to 29 miles (46.7 km) at 220 lbs and up to 22.5 miles (36.2 km) at 400 lbs. Soft ground, hills, and cold weather shorten those figures.
The charger is 4 amp off-board. Pride's Bandit owner's manual still tells daily riders to charge 8 to 14 hours after the day. Ask us which pack, 20 Ah or 40 Ah, will ship on your order. Do not open the lithium box.
Portability and transport
Pride's feather-touch disassembly splits the Baja Bandit into the seat, front section, rear section, basket, battery pack, and battery shroud. The heaviest piece is the 71 lb (32 kg) front section. Pride prints 162.6 lbs (74 kg) without batteries, 183.4 lbs (83 kg) with the 20 Ah pack, and 197.8 lbs (90 kg) with the 40 Ah pack.
That front section will fit many large car trunks. Measure the opening before you count on one person doing the lift. Pride's owner's manual says transport on commercial aircraft is subject to airline policy. Do not invent a cabin-approved claim for the lithium pack. Ask the airline before you book. The scooter is not a seat in a motor vehicle. For a scheduled drop-off in Brampton or the GTA, call (905) 451-7743.
Pride Baja Bandit specifications
These figures are from Baja Mobility's BA140 spec sheet and Pride Canada's Bandit 4-Wheel card. They are not Wrangler or Raptor numbers. The specification tab holds the stored values.

Ground clearance 1.57 in (4.0 cm) at the motor skid, 2.68 in (6.8 cm) at the front bumper, 4.45 in (11.3 cm) at mid-deck. Seat-to-deck 18.11 in. Stadium seat 18 in wide by 17 in deep with a slider. Wheels, trims, and colours
The Pride Baja Bandit is a 4-wheel scooter only. Pride does not publish a 3-wheel Bandit. Wheels are 9 in solid flat-free tires, not the Wrangler's 14.5 in pneumatics.
Pride Canada finishes the Bandit in Camo, Sage, and Tan. US Baja cards also print Black Camo. Lithium packs are 20 Ah or 40 Ah. The front basket, full bumper package, LED lights, USB port, and infinite tiller lever are standard.
Bandit, Wrangler 2, or Raptor 2
The Pride Baja Bandit is the compact off-road mobility scooter: 4 wheels, 400 lbs, 9 in solid tires, 4.45 in mid-deck clearance, 8 mph (12.9 km/h), 53 in turn, lithium, 71 lb front. The Pride Baja Wrangler 2 is the trail dual-motor: 450 lbs, 14.5 in pneumatics, 8.25 in clearance, 94.75 in turn. The Pride Baja Raptor 2 3-Wheel is the street Baja: 3 wheels, 400 lbs, 16 in tires, 14 mph, 60 in turn.
Choose the Bandit for packed paths, grass, and a lift-apart front section. Choose the Wrangler 2 for property lanes and higher clearance. Choose the Raptor 2 3-wheel for speed on packed paths. The Pride Pursuit 2 is the lithium outdoor 4-wheel when you want pavement, not Baja clearance.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Pride manufacturer warranty
Pride's Baja Bandit brochure prints a lifetime limited frame term, 2 years on the drivetrain, 2 years on electronics, and 3 years on the lithium-ion battery, for the original purchaser. Wear items such as tires and shrouds sit outside that term. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
How Far Can A Mobility Scooter Go?
The Pride Baja Bandit travels up to 14.5 miles (23.3 km) at 220 lbs and 11.25 miles (18.1 km) at 400 lbs on the 20 Ah lithium pack. On the 40 Ah pack it travels up to 29 miles (46.7 km) at 220 lbs and 22.5 miles (36.2 km) at 400 lbs. Soft ground, hills, and cold weather shorten those numbers.
How Long Does It Take To Charge A Mobility Scooter?
The Pride Baja Bandit uses a 4 amp off-board charger on a 20 Ah or 40 Ah lithium pack. Pride's Bandit owner's manual tells daily riders to charge 8 to 14 hours after a day of use. Do not open the lithium box.
Can I Take A Mobility Scooter On A Plane?
The Pride Baja Bandit is not printed as an airline travel scooter. It uses a lithium pack and its heaviest piece is 71 lbs (32 kg). Pride's owner's manual says aircraft transport is subject to airline policy. Ask the airline before you book.
Can I Use A Mobility Scooter In The Rain?
The Pride Baja Bandit owner's manual prints an IPX4 splash classification and tells riders not to drive into or through water. Use extra care on wet, muddy, or snowy ground. Bring the scooter in when the weather turns.
Does ADP Cover Scooters?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program can help with a mobility scooter after an ADP-registered therapist assessment. Eligibility depends on the person and the category. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy. We will point you to the right path for your case.
Is The Pride Baja Bandit A 3-Wheel Or 4-Wheel Scooter?
The Pride Baja Bandit is a 4-wheel scooter. Pride does not publish a 3-wheel Bandit. If you want a 3-wheel Baja, look at the Baja Raptor 2 3-Wheel.
What Is An Off-Road Mobility Scooter?
The Pride Baja Bandit is an off-road mobility scooter with 4.45 in of mid-deck clearance, 9 in solid tires, and a 400 lb rating. Pride's owner's manual allows uneven and unpacked terrain when the rider follows the safety guidelines. It is not the Wrangler's 14.5 in dual-motor trail platform.
What Is The Weight Limit For A Mobility Scooter?
The Pride Baja Bandit is rated at 400 lbs (181 kg) on Pride's BA140 sheet, rider plus accessories. If you need 450 lbs and more clearance, look at the Wrangler 2. If you need 500 lbs on pavement, look at the Maxima or the PX4.
Do Mobility Scooters Work In Winter?
The Pride Baja Bandit owner's manual tells riders to use extreme caution on snow and not to drive through water. It is not a snow scooter. Cold weather shortens lithium range. Ask us about storage if the scooter will sit through a Brampton winter.
Can I Rent A Mobility Scooter?
Westin Healthcare rents mobility scooters for short-term needs in the GTA. See the mobility scooter rental page and call (905) 451-7743 to check what is on the floor. A rental scooter may be a different model than the Baja Bandit.
