The Permobil Atlas Hybrid is 5 Minds Mobility's non-powered, self-adjusting foam and air hospital mattress, distributed in Canada by Permobil. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it on the bed for homes and care rooms in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Interconnected chambers under a multi-zone foam top share air as the person moves. A manual ROHO pump and a valve closure kit come with the mattress so you can set how firm those chambers feel.

Atlas Hybrid can later take the optional Atlas Hybrid Pump and run as an alternating-pressure surface. The pump is not on this picker. Call us if the therapist wants that path. Who this mattress is for

This mattress is for a person at risk of pressure injuries who needs more redistribution than a solid foam slab, but who may not need a pump running all day. Permobil describes the Atlas Hybrid as suitable for vulnerable clients at risk for pressure injuries, and as a surface for prevention and treatment of pressure injuries. Families usually call us when a therapist wants a hybrid that can stay off the wall outlet, or when they want the option to add alternating pressure later.

The stock widths are 35, 39, 42, and 48 inches, all 80 inches long and 7 inches high. The 35 inch mattress is narrower than a standard 36 inch homecare deck. Confirm that pairing with us before you order. For a simple SRT foam on a 36 inch Halsa or Delta, start with the Permobil Align.

Construction and how it works

Atlas Hybrid is a non-powered self-adjusting hybrid. Foam sits on top. Interconnected air chambers and valves sit underneath and equalize as weight shifts. There is no wall plug unless you add the optional pump. Permobil's current brochure puts Serene foam in the middle of the top for immersion and a 5 degree sloped Super Soft foam foot section to move load off the heels. Four inch firm borders give a solid transfer edge.

A manual ROHO air pump sets how soft or firm the chambers feel. The closure kit keeps the circuit closed when no powered pump is attached. Both come with the mattress. The cover is a fluid-resistant, four-way stretch cover that wipes clean. If you add the Atlas Hybrid Pump, the same chambers become a powered alternating-pressure surface. That pump has a 1 year limited warranty. The mattress itself is 2 years.

These figures are for the Atlas Hybrid family Westin sells. The specification tab holds the stored values. Permobil's January 2026 SKU table lists four stock sizes, all 7 inches high and 80 inches long:

• ATL4880: 48 x 80, 700 lb

Custom configurations are available if you call. Do not treat 700 lb as the rating on every width. Warranty for the original purchaser is a 2 year limited warranty on the 5 Minds Mobility surface. The optional Atlas Hybrid Pump is 1 year.

• 42" WIDTH
• 39" WIDTH

The card itself is ATL3580, the 35 inch, 500 lb mattress. If you need 35 inch, leave the picker and tell us on the order, or call (905) 451-7743 so we do not ship a 39 or 42 by mistake. If you need 48 inch (ATL4880, 700 lb), call us. That width is not on the picker. The optional Atlas Hybrid Pump is also a call-us item.

Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario

Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds or mattresses, so plan around other routes. Which Westin beds this mattress fits

A 35 inch Atlas is narrower than a 36 inch homecare deck. Confirm that pairing with us. A 36 inch-class frame such as the Permobil Halsa or the Drive Delta 1000 is the usual starting point. A 42 inch Atlas needs a 42 inch deck such as the Drive 15300LW. Call us for a 48 inch Atlas on a 48 inch frame.

Service and warranty

When the cover, the chambers, or a pump needs work, you call the shop that set the mattress up. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Frequently asked questions

How is a hybrid different from foam or from alternating pressure?

Foam is a solid stack. Alternating pressure uses a pump to raise and lower air cells on a timer. Atlas Hybrid sits in the middle: foam on top, interconnected air chambers underneath that equalize without a wall plug. Add the optional pump only if the therapist wants timed alternating pressure.

How do I clean the Atlas Hybrid cover?

Wipe the four-way stretch cover with neutral soap and lukewarm water, rinse, and let it dry. Ask us before anyone uses a washing machine. Keep fluids off the chamber connections.

What is the weight rating?

Permobil's 2026 SKU lines are 500 lb on 35 inch, 600 lb on 39 inch, and 700 lb on 42 and 48 inch. Use the rating for the width you order, not 700 lb on every size.

What size do I need?

Does the pump make noise?

The mattress runs without a pump. The included ROHO pump is a hand pump you use when you set firmness, then put away. The optional powered Atlas Hybrid Pump is a compressor. Permobil has not published a decibel rating for that pump. Ask us if the bedroom is noise-sensitive before you add it.
