Description
The Airgo ProCare IC is an Airgo folding wheelchair with a chrome-plated steel frame and mag wheels. Airgo is an AMG Medical brand. Drive Medical Canada has owned the Airgo brand since 2016. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes and care settings in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The default Drive/AMG code on this chair is 700-525, the 16 inch fixed-arm chair with swing-away footrests.
Airgo names the chair ProCare IC (Infection Control). The manufacturer sheet says it was designed with feedback from healthcare professionals, exceeds institutional standards of quality, and has touch points that are easy to clean and disinfect. It does not claim to prevent infection. Drive lists the family in 16, 18, 20, and 22 inch with a 300 lb rating and a 49 to 66 lb chair weight.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who needs a steel self-propel wheelchair that wipes down easily, fits 16 to 22 inches, and stays at or under 300 lb. Care homes and clinics often ask for it because Airgo prints easy-to-clean contact points and flame-retardant black naugahyde. It also works at home when the family wants a chrome steel chair instead of nylon-upholstered Drive Rebel or Cruiser frames.
If you want a lighter folding chair for a car trunk, start with the Drive Cruiser X4 or the Drive Rebel. If a companion will push and you do not need mag wheels, see the Airgo Comfort-Plus XC Premium Transport Chair. The ProCare IC is a self-propel wheelchair, not a transport chair.
- Self-propel use when easy-to-clean touch points matter
- A 300 lb rating on chrome-plated steel, 16 to 22 inch
- Dual-axle seat height at 18 or 20 inches
Design and build
The frame is heavy-duty chrome-plated steel. Upholstery is flame-retardant black naugahyde. Materials are latex free. Mag wheels and a streamlined frame are how Airgo describes a lighter, more durable chair in this steel class. Tires are solid snap-on, with adjustable brakes and sealed bearings. Handles are ergonomic.
Dual axle positions set seat-to-floor height at 18 or 20 inches. Seat depth on the family sheet is 16 to 18 inches. The chair folds to 12 to 13 inches wide. Handle height is 36 inches. Airgo's sheet does not print a rear-wheel inch size. The layout is still a mag-wheel self-propel chair.
Fixed arms are the 700-525 / 700-625 configuration. Detachable full-arm codes exist in the Airgo/AMG matrix (700-622, 700-623) if that is the chair you need. Ask us before you order if you need arms that come off.
Airgo ProCare IC Wheelchair specifications
These figures are for the Airgo ProCare IC family sold here, default SKU 700-525. The specification tab holds the stored values. The Drive-formatted family sheet lists seat widths 16, 18, 20, and 22 inches, seat depth 16 to 18 inches, seat height 18 or 20 inches, folded width 12 to 13 inches, handle height 36 inches, net weight 49 to 66 lb, and a 300 lb capacity.
Do not mix these numbers with the Drive Rebel (37 lb, 18 by 16 only) or the Cruiser X4 (33.5 lb or less excluding riggings). Those chairs use nylon upholstery and Drive's Lifetime Limited term. The ProCare IC uses the Airgo split warranty below.
Warranty on the manufacturer sheet is 3 years on the frame and cross-brace, 6 months on all other metal parts, and 3 months on upholstery, plastic, and rubber. That is the term we print. It is not a 1 year blanket and it is not Drive's Lifetime Limited wheelchair term.
Size and legrest options
Use Seat Width to set 16, 18, 20, or 22 inch. Bowers maps 700-525 to 16 inch fixed-arm swing-away and 700-625 to 18 inch fixed-arm swing-away. Twenty and 22 inch use the same family sheet. Confirm the Airgo item number on your order.

Use Legrest to set swing-away footrests or elevating leg rests. Elevating on the 18 inch fixed-arm chair is Airgo/AMG 700-626. Seat depth follows the family 16 to 18 inch range for the width you pick.
Funding help for a manual wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a manual wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this wheelchair and a transport chair?
A standard wheelchair has large rear wheels so the person can push themselves. A transport chair has small rear wheels and is built for a caregiver to push. The ProCare IC is a mag-wheel self-propel chair. The Airgo Comfort-Plus XC is the companion-push chair in the same brand.
Who pushes the ProCare IC?
The person in the chair, using the mag wheels. A companion can also push from the ergonomic handles. Use the adjustable brakes before sitting or standing.
What does Infection Control mean on this chair?
Airgo's name for the chair is ProCare IC (Infection Control). The manufacturer says touch points are easy to clean and disinfect, contact points are proprietary, and the chair exceeds institutional standards of quality. That is the wording we use. The sheet does not say the chair prevents infection.
Will it fold into a car trunk?
The family sheet lists 12 to 13 inches folded. Net weight is 49 to 66 lb, so plan for a heavier lift than a Rebel or Cruiser X4. We can show you the fold at delivery.
What seat width do I need?
Use Seat Width for 16, 18, 20, or 22 inch. Measure the seated hip width and leave a little room on each side. Default code 700-525 is the 16 inch fixed-arm chair.
What is the weight capacity?
The manufacturer sheet lists 300 lbs on every width in this family. Stay at or under that rating.
Is this a Drive chair or an Airgo chair?
It is an Airgo ProCare IC. Airgo was an AMG Medical brand. Drive Medical Canada bought Airgo in 2016 and still uses the Airgo name on this chair. Canadian distributors list both AMG and Drive item numbers (700-525, AMG700525).
What is the warranty?
Three years on the frame and cross-brace, 6 months on other metal parts, and 3 months on upholstery, plastic, and rubber. That is the manufacturer sheet, not a 1 year blanket. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
Can funding help with this chair in Ontario?
Some Ontario routes can help with mobility equipment. Eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Can I rent a manual wheelchair before I buy?
Westin Healthcare rents some mobility equipment. Ask us whether a manual wheelchair can go out as a rental for your dates. Purchased chairs are delivered on a scheduled date.
