Description

The Airgo Fusion is AMG Medical's side-folding rollator and transport chair in one frame. Westin Healthcare sells the F18, F20, and F23 sizes and delivers them for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. You walk with it as a four-wheel rollator. When you need a ride, a companion swings the footrests down and pushes you from behind.

Drive's current sheets list an aluminum frame, a 19.5 inch by 10 inch seat, a 300 lb weight capacity, and 8 inch wheels. The F18 and F20 weigh 17 lb. The F23 weighs 21 lb. Ontario dealers know this frame as ADP number AA0000694. The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists has recognized the design.

Who this chair is for

This chair is for a person who still walks with a rollator for part of the day and sometimes needs to sit and be pushed. Families usually call us when a parent wants one piece of equipment for the mall, the clinic, and the car, instead of packing a rollator and a separate transport chair.

If you only need a caregiver-pushed chair and the person does not walk with a rollator, start with the Airgo Comfort-Plus XC transport chair. If you want a simple 17 inch companion chair, see the Drive Aluminum Transport Chair ATC17. The Fusion is not a 24 inch self-propel wheelchair.

  • Someone who walks with four wheels and also needs a push now and then
  • A caregiver who wants one frame that folds sideways for the car
  • F18, F20, or F23 seat height, with a 300 lb rating

Design and build

The Fusion is aluminum and folds sideways when you pull the strap. The frame locks together when it is folded, which makes it safer to lift. A covered soft basket folds with the frame and comes off if you want it off. Swing n' Lock footrests clip to the frame when you are walking, then swing down when someone is going to push you. Dual armrests give you a place to rest your arms in both modes.

Handgrips sit at a natural angle so the brakes are easy to reach. A large knob lets you adjust the brakes without tools. Smooth bearings and a lower centre of gravity are how Drive describes the push. A curb climber comes in the box. The seat is padded. The backrest is full height for this class of rollator.

  • Side-fold strap, then the frame locks for lifting
  • Swing n' Lock footrests for the transport-chair mode
  • Covered soft basket that folds with the frame
  • Tool-free brake adjustment knob
  • 8 inch wheels and a curb climber
  • Padded seat and a full backrest

Airgo Fusion specifications

These figures are for the Fusion sizes Westin sells. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use Drive's current size sheets, not a mixed 350 lb figure.

F18 (700-938): handle height 29.5 to 35 inches, seat height 18 inches, seat 19.5 by 10 inches, 17 lb, 300 lb capacity.

F20 (700-935, 700-935BK, 700-935CR): handle height 30 to 36.5 inches, seat height 20 inches, seat 19.5 by 10 inches, 17 lb, 300 lb capacity.

F23 (700-932, 700-932PB): handle height 33.5 to 39 inches, seat height 23 inches, seat 19.5 by 10 inches, 21 lb, 300 lb capacity.

The AMG brochure also prints a 27 inch unit width on the F18 and F20. Warranty on the F18 and F20 sheets is lifetime on the frame and 5 years on the handle and brakes. The F23 sheet prints Limited Lifetime.

Colour, Seat Height, and other selectors

Pick the seat height first, then the colour. The live selectors use the names Colour and Seat Height.

Seat Height

Choose F18 (18 inch seat), F20 (20 inch seat), or F23 (23 inch seat). F23 is the tall frame. Sit on a sample if you can. The seat should let the person put their feet down in rollator mode and sit with their hips back in transport-chair mode.

Colour

Drive's current cards list Pacific Blue, Pearl Black, and Cranberry, with Black and Blue on the F23. The AMG brochure also names Pearl White. Choose the colour the selector shows for the size you picked. Not every colour is built in every height.

Every Fusion size Westin sells is rated 300 lb. There is no 350 lb Fusion. The 400 lb chair in the Airgo line is a different product (Fusion XWD) and is not this product.

Funding help for a rollator and transport chair in Ontario

Depending on the person's situation and assessment, funding support may be available for mobility equipment in Ontario. Westin Healthcare's staff work with funding programs every week and can point you to the right route for your case. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA

Westin's own team delivers and sets up this chair across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, unfold it, and show you the side-fold, the brakes, and the footrests before we leave.

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a chair first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased chairs are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.

If the chair is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty

When something on the chair needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.

Airgo manufacturer warranty

On the F18 and F20 sheets, Drive covers the original purchaser with a lifetime warranty on the frame and 5 years on the handle and brakes. The F23 sheet prints Limited Lifetime. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a transport chair and a standard wheelchair?

A transport chair is pushed by a companion and uses small rear wheels. A standard wheelchair has 24 inch rear wheels with pushrims so the person can self-propel. The Fusion is neither of those on its own. It is a four-wheel rollator that converts to a transport chair when the footrests swing down.

Who pushes the Airgo Fusion?

In rollator mode, the person walks and steers. In transport-chair mode, a companion stands behind and pushes. The person in the seat does not self-propel. If you need large rear wheels for independent wheeling, this is the wrong product.

Will the Fusion fold into a car trunk?

Yes. Pull the strap and the frame folds sideways and locks. Drive designed that lock so the folded frame is safer to lift. The F18 and F20 are 17 lb. The F23 is 21 lb. Clip the footrests to the frame before you lift. Try the fold in a Brampton or Toronto store if you want to see the size in a trunk.

How do I choose F18, F20, or F23?

Match seat height to the person. F18 is an 18 inch seat and the lowest handles (29.5 to 35 inches). F20 is the middle size (20 inch seat, handles 30 to 36.5 inches). F23 is the tall frame (23 inch seat, handles 33.5 to 39 inches). Sit on a sample. Do not guess from height charts alone.

What is the seat width?

Drive lists 19.5 inches wide by 10 inches deep on F18, F20, and F23. That seat is a rollator pad, not a full wheelchair sling. If the person needs a deeper or wider wheelchair seat, look at a standard chair instead of stretching this pad.

What is the weight capacity?

Drive lists 300 lbs on F18, F20, and F23. Ignore a 350 lb choice if it appears on the page. The 400 lb Airgo Fusion is a different SKU (XWD) that is not sold here.

Why 8 inch wheels on a transport-chair mode?

The Fusion keeps 8 inch wheels so it still works as a rollator indoors. Those wheels are smaller than the 12 inch wheels on the Comfort-Plus XC. They fold into a narrower package. They are not meant for rough ground the way a large wheelchair wheel is.

What is the warranty on the Airgo Fusion?

F18 and F20: lifetime on the frame, 5 years on the handle and brakes, for the original purchaser. F23: Limited Lifetime on the current Drive sheet. Westin Healthcare processes the claim. Details are on our service and repairs page.

Does funding help with this 2-in-1 in Ontario?

Some Ontario routes can help with mobility equipment, and eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. The Fusion carries manufacturer ADP number AA0000694. That number does not approve a file on its own. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.

Can I rent a chair like this before I buy?

Westin Healthcare rents transport chairs for short-term needs. See the transport wheelchair rental page. A rental chair may be a different model than the Fusion. Call (905) 451-7743 to check what is on the floor.

What is included with the Fusion?

You get the aluminum side-folding frame, padded seat and backrest, Swing n' Lock footrests, the covered soft basket, and the curb climber. Choose Seat Height and Colour on the selectors. Slow-down brakes (730-942) are a separate accessory on Drive's sheet, not included unless we add them.
