Description
The MK 8G22NF gel battery is a 12 V group 22NF sealed gel cell for mobility scooters and power chairs. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and can swap it in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. MK Battery (East Penn / Deka) prints 51 Ah at the 20-hour rate and 43.2 Ah at the 5-hour rate. Most of those devices run two 12 V batteries in series for 24 V, so you usually buy two and replace both at the same time.
Who this battery is for
This is the sealed gel 22NF cell, not the AGM 8A22NF and not an Interstate GEL0055. Quantum Rehab names MK gel on several NF-22 bases, including the Edge 3, the Q6 Edge 2.0, and the Stretto. It is not the factory size for a Baja Wrangler 2, which Baja prints as a pair of 75 Ah or 100 Ah batteries, and it is not a U1 travel-scooter cell.

MK 8G22NF gel battery chemistry and pairs
MK prints the 8G22NF as a valve-regulated gelled-electrolyte battery, not an absorbed glass mat. Gel holds the acid in a thick electrolyte. The MK sheet rates it non-spillable by DOT, ICAO, and IATA definitions. A gel cell wants a gel-capable charger. Do not use a charger that is set only for flooded or only for AGM unless the charger maker says it has a gel profile.
Quantum and Interstate both describe typical mobility systems as two 12 V deep-cycle batteries in series. Westin sells the 8G22NF as a single 12 V battery. Order two when the device takes a pair, and keep the pair matched in chemistry and amp-hour rating.

Gel, AGM, or Interstate: which 22NF sibling fits
Stay on gel if the old cell is gel or if the device maker names gel. If the old cell is AGM, see the MK 8A22NF (55 Ah at 20 hr) or the Interstate DCM0055. If you want Interstate gel, that is the Interstate GEL0055 at 50 Ah, a shorter 8.07 in case. A U1 tray takes the MK 8AU1, not this 22NF.

MK's 8G22NF one-pager does not print a month count. East Penn's current Marine Master sheet prints a 12-month free-replacement column and a shorter term when the battery is used in a full electric vehicle. We handle the claim with you.

What Battery Does My Scooter Take?
The MK 8G22NF gel battery fits a group 22NF tray that the device maker specifies as gel. Quantum names MK gel on several NF-22 bases. The old battery's group stamp, height, and terminals decide the carton. A U1, group 24, or group 27 tray is a different SKU.
Do Mobility Batteries Come In Pairs?
Most full-size scooters and power chairs run two 12 V batteries in series for 24 V. Quantum and Interstate both print that pair fact. Westin sells the 8G22NF as a single 12 V cell. Order two, and replace both together so the pair stays matched.
Is This Gel Or AGM?
The MK 8G22NF is gel. MK prints valve-regulated gelled electrolyte on the 8G22NF sheet. The 8A22NF is the AGM sibling in the same group. Do not mix gel and AGM in one 24 V pair.
Can I Replace Scooter Batteries Myself?
Some owners swap a 22NF pair at home. The cells are about 37.5 lb each, the tray is tight, and the pair must match. Westin can do the swap in Brampton and the GTA through the battery replacement service if you want the lift and the recycle handled here.
How Long Do Mobility Scooter Batteries Last?
Interstate's mobility page says power wheelchair batteries last around two years at two to six hours of use a day. MK does not print a year count on the 8G22NF sheet. Range, charger quality, and cold weather change that number. When the device slows early or the charger runs all day, call us and we will test the pair.
What Is The Warranty?
MK's 8G22NF sheet does not print a month count. East Penn prints a 12-month free-replacement column, with a shorter term in full electric-vehicle use. Westin Healthcare processes the manufacturer claim.
