Description
The MK 8AU1 battery is a 12 V group U1 sealed AGM cell for smaller mobility scooters and some compact power chairs. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and can swap it in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. MK's AGM brochure prints 32 Ah at the 20-hour rate and 27.5 Ah at the 5-hour rate. Pride prints the Victory 10 as a pair of U1 batteries, so you usually buy two and replace both at the same time.
Who this battery is for
This is the U1 AGM cell, about 8.3 in long. It is not a group 22NF and it is not a group 24. Pride's Victory 10 spec lists (2) U1 as the standard pair. It is not the factory size for a Baja Wrangler 2, which Baja prints as a pair of 75 Ah or 100 Ah batteries, and it is not the Quantum 4Front 2, which Quantum prints as group 24 AGM or group 34 gel.

MK 8AU1 battery chemistry and pairs
MK prints the 8AU1 on the sealed AGM table, not the gel table. AGM holds the acid in a glass mat. East Penn rates the 8A family non-spillable by DOT, ICAO, and IATA definitions. MK's AGM brochure says to charge a 12 V battery to at least 14.4 V and no more than 14.6 V at 68 F (20 C), and not to charge it in a sealed container.
Most mobility devices that take U1 cells take two of them in series for 24 V. Westin sells the 8AU1 as a single 12 V battery. Order two, and keep the pair matched.

U1, 22NF, or group 24: which sibling fits
Stay on U1 if the old cell is U1. A taller 22NF tray takes the MK 8A22NF or the MK 8G22NF gel. A group 24 tray takes the MK 8A24. Interstate's 55 Ah 22NF mobility cell is the DCM0055, a different group.

What Is A U1 Battery?
The MK 8AU1 battery is a group U1 12 V AGM cell, about 8.3 in long and 7.3 in tall. It is the small mobility size. A 22NF or group 24 cell will not sit in a U1 tray.
Do I Need One Battery Or Two?
Pride prints the Victory 10 as two U1 batteries. Most U1 scooters run that same 24 V pair. Westin sells the 8AU1 as a single 12 V cell. Order two and replace both together.
Will This Fit A Baja Wrangler?
No. Baja Mobility prints the Wrangler 2 as a pair of 75 Ah or 100 Ah batteries, not a U1 pair. For a Wrangler, bring the old cell or call (905) 451-7743 and we will open the group 27 / 31 options.
Can I Replace Scooter Batteries Myself?
Some owners swap a U1 pair at home. The deck is still tight and the pair must match. Westin can do the swap in Brampton and the GTA through the battery replacement service.
How Long Do Mobility Scooter Batteries Last?
Interstate's mobility page says power wheelchair batteries last around two years at two to six hours of use a day. MK does not print a year count on the 8AU1 row. Cold weather and a tired charger shorten that. When the scooter fades early, we test the pair.

East Penn prints a 12-month free-replacement column, with a shorter term in full electric-vehicle use. Westin Healthcare processes the manufacturer claim.
