Description
The Evolution Evo rollator is Evolution Technologies' steel Evolution Series 4-wheel walker with a large removable wire basket. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. "Evo" is Evolution's steel series (Regular DX, Wide DX, Low DX, Low Wide DX). It is not an Xpresso and not a Piper.
Evolution's current sheet lists four sizes. Regular and Wide weigh 23 lb (10.4 kg). Low weighs 20 lb (9.1 kg). Low Wide weighs 22 lb (10.0 kg). Narrow sizes are rated 350 lb (159 kg). Wide sizes are rated 400 lb (181 kg).
Who this rollator is for
This rollator is for a person who wants a rigid steel frame, a large wire basket, and 8 in outdoor tires, and who is fine with a 20-23 lb lift. Families usually call us when an aluminium Xpresso feels light in the hands but not planted enough, or when the person needs a 21 in wide seat at 400 lb.
If you want a 450 lb X-fold instead of steel, see the Xpresso Wide HD. If you want 12-15 lb aluminium, see the Piper or the Xpresso Lite.
- 1-1/8 in cold-rolled steel frame and a large wire basket
- Four DX sizes: Low, Regular, Low Wide, Wide
- 350 lb on the 17 in seats; 400 lb on the 21 in seats
Fit and height
Stand in everyday walking shoes with your arms relaxed and match the wrist crease to the handle range. Low and Low Wide handles run 30-36 in (76.2-91.4 cm). Regular and Wide handles run 30-38 in (76.2-96.5 cm).
Use Rollator Size to pick Evo Low DX (19 in seat, 17 in wide), Evo Regular DX (23 in seat, 17 in wide), Evo Low Wide DX (21 in seat, 21 in wide), or Evo Wide DX (23 in seat, 21 in wide). Capacity follows that size. It is not a separate switch.
Wheels, brakes, and folding
The Evo Series uses 8 in heavy-duty polyurethane tires. The frame is powder-coated steel with stainless or plated fasteners. Evolution's Canada page says the plastic parts are moulded to handle temperatures down to -40 C. Colour is Black only.
The large wire basket is removable. Evolution does not print an X-fold for this series. Plan to lift the basket off before you pack the frame. Lock both brakes on flat ground before you sit. Evolution's card says not to use the walker as a wheelchair, and not to use it to push open doors or hit curbs.
Weight and portability
Low is 20 lb (9.1 kg) on Evolution's sheet, without accessories, backstrap, or basket. Low Wide is 22 lb (10.0 kg). Regular and Wide are 23 lb (10.4 kg). Narrow overall size is 21 by 30 in (53.3 by 76.2 cm). Wide overall size is 26 by 30 in (66.0 by 76.2 cm). This is the heavier Evolution. It is a car-trunk item with the basket off, not a 15 lb Xpresso lift.
Evolution Evo Series specifications
These figures are for the Evolution Series as printed on Evolution's current Canada sell sheet. The specification tab holds the stored values. A stored 20 lb or 14-16 lb figure is not Regular or Wide.

Warranty follows Evolution's wheeled-walker card: lifetime limited on the frame and metal, 5 years on the braking system excluding normal wear, 1 year on the basket, handle grips, back rest, and other plastic parts, and 6 months on the tires excluding normal wear. Register within 14 days.
Size
Use Rollator Size to pick Low DX, Regular DX, Low Wide DX, or Wide DX. Evolution paints this series Black. Evolution also makes an arm-platform add-on that fits these four Evo sizes only. Ask us if that accessory is on your order.
Steel Evo Series or Xpresso Wide
The Evo Series is the steel Evolution with the large wire basket. The Xpresso Wide HD is the aluminium X-fold at 450 lb and 20 in. The Piper is the light aluminium 275 lb rollator. The Tacoma is the 18 lb cable-free Xpresso if you want the Roman arch instead of steel.
Funding help for a walker or rollator in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a walker or rollator when the need is long-term and the aid is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every model qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this rollator across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, unfold it, set the handle height, and show you the brakes and the basket before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a steel rollator first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased rollators are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
If the rollator is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Evolution manufacturer warranty
Evolution's current wheeled-walker card, for the original purchaser who registers within 14 days, is lifetime limited on the frame and metal components, 5 years on the braking system excluding normal wear, 1 year on the basket, handle grips, back rest, and other plastic parts, and 6 months on the tires excluding normal wear. Evolution voids the warranty if the walker is used to push open doors, hit curbs, or used as a wheelchair. We handle the warranty claim with you.
