Description
The Handicare TurnTableSoft is a padded two-disc rotating transfer turntable. You sit on it. The bottom disc stays on the car seat, chair, or bed, and the top disc turns so the hips can follow. SystemRoMedic is the Handicare transfer line. Savaria Patient Care lists it. Westin Healthcare quotes it and delivers it across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
This is not a ceiling-track turntable. It has no rail, no motor, and no battery. It is not the hard plastic floor disc that goes under the feet for a standing pivot. If the person needs to stand after the turn, see the Handicare ReTurn. If they need a powered rise, see the Handicare MiniLift.
Who it is for
This disc is for a person who can sit and rotate, and who needs help turning on a car seat, a chair, or the edge of a bed. Handicare writes that TurnTableSoft is used mainly for transfers to and from car seats. It also belongs on chairs and beds when a seated turn is the job. Stay inside 150 kg (330 lb). Do not use it on leather or rubberized upholstery. The disc is not a lift and it is not a slide board.
- Car transfers when the person can sit, turn the hips, and lift the legs in or out
- Chair or bedside turns when the same padded disc is easier than swinging on a bare seat
- Users within Handicare's 150 kg (330 lb) safe working load
- Homes and care rooms in Brampton and the GTA that want a washable seated turntable, not a ceiling rail
What you get and how it turns
Each order is one TurnTableSoft. Two padded discs are sewn as a pair, with a friction-reducing layer between them so the top disc glides on the bottom disc. Handicare's current IFU lists the cloth as polyester, polyamide, and cotton. Place the disc on the surface before anyone sits. On a car seat, centre it. On a bed, set it near the edge so the head still reaches the pillow when the person lies down.
For a car: the person sits at an angle with the legs still outside, then rotates and lifts the legs in. They may stay seated on the disc during the trip. Wear a seatbelt. To get out, rotate toward the door and lift the legs out. The same sit-and-turn pattern works on a chair. Handicare prints a hard stop: TurnTableSoft cannot be used on leather or rubberized upholstery.
This listing is quote-only. You get the size you pick, 5086 or 5087. No belt and no lift bar ship with it.
Handicare TurnTableSoft specifications
These figures are for Handicare TurnTableSoft articles 5086 and 5087. They come from Savaria's live card, the Handicare dimensions sheet (Rev.20180223), and IFU 846 Ver. 13. The specification tab holds the stored values. They are not the Track Turntable sheet and not the hard floor TurnTable 5085 sheet.
Safe working load is 150 kg (330 lb) on both sizes. 5086 is 17.7 in (450 mm) across. 5087 is 15.7 in (400 mm) across. Each article ships as one piece. Construction is two padded discs with anti-friction material between them. Materials are polyester, polyamide, and cotton. Medical Device Class I under MDR 2017/745. Expected lifetime is up to 10 years of normal use. Handicare does not print a product weight or a stacked height on the dimensions sheet or the IFU.
Do not read the ceiling Track Turntable's 16.3 kg case or 272 kg (600 lb) rating onto this page. Do not read the hard floor TurnTable's 135 kg (297 lb) rating or 38 cm disc onto this page.
Size options
Use Size to pick the factory article on your quote. The default is 5086.
- 5086: TurnTableSoft 17.7 in (Ø 450 mm)
- 5087: TurnTableSoft 15.7 in (Ø 400 mm)
Both sizes share the 150 kg (330 lb) rating. Pick 5087 when the seat is narrow. Pick 5086 when you want the larger disc. Ask us if you are unsure which diameter fits the vehicle or the chair.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers the Handicare TurnTableSoft across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We can show you where to place it on the seat and how the two discs turn before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see the disc first. For a scheduled drop-off, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our patient lift rental service; purchased goods ship on a scheduled date.
This disc is a smaller good. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer can apply when it ships on its own. If it travels with an oversized lift or bed, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Which surfaces this disc fits
Handicare names car seats, chairs, and beds. The person sits on the disc. There is no loop, clip, or hanger-bar attachment. It does not mount on a ceiling rail and it does not buckle to a lift.
Do not use it on leather or rubberized upholstery. If the car seat is leather, ask us for a different transfer plan. A hard sliding board for a seat-to-seat car transfer is a different Handicare family; we will quote that board only when the assessment calls for a slide, not a turn.
After the person is facing the right way, a sit-to-stand aid may be the next step. We already sell the Handicare ReTurn for a manual rise, and the Handicare MiniLift when the rise needs power. WendyLett sheets, EasyBelt, EasySlide, FlexiGrip, and ReTurnBelt are related SystemRoMedic aids we stock. Ask us to add the one that matches the transfer. They are not sizes of this disc.
Service, repairs, and warranty
When something on the disc needs work, you call the shop that supplied it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department.
Handicare TurnTableSoft lifetime and care
Handicare's current IFU prints an expected lifetime of up to 10 years of normal use. It does not print a separate year-count warranty. Inspect the seams and cloth after every wash. Do a low-friction test against a new disc if the turn starts to drag. Discard the disc if the cloth is worn, faded, or damaged. Read the product label. Do not use fabric softener. Avoid tumble drying if you want the longest service life. Handicare's textile sheet for manual devices allows a 60-80 C (140-176 F) wash. We handle any manufacturer claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Handicare TurnTableSoft?
It is a padded two-disc turntable. You sit on it so the hips can rotate on a car seat, a chair, or a bed. The bottom disc stays put. The top disc turns. It is not a lift and it is not a ceiling-track part.
Is this the same as the Savaria Track Turntable?
No. The Track Turntable is powered ceiling-rail hardware that joins two crossing tracks. This listing is a washable padded disc you sit on. They do not share articles, ratings, or photos.
Is this the hard floor TurnTable with a handle?
No. The hard SystemRoMedic TurnTable is a plastic disc that goes on the floor under the feet for a standing pivot. TurnTableSoft is padded, it goes on the seat, and the person sits on it. We are quoting 5086 or 5087 only.
What is the safe working load?
150 kg (330 lb) on both 5086 and 5087. Stay inside that number for the person plus anything they wear or hold.
Which size should I pick?
5086 is 17.7 in (450 mm) and is the default. 5087 is 15.7 in (400 mm) for a narrower seat. Both are 150 kg (330 lb). Send us the seat width if you want us to choose.
Can I use TurnTableSoft on a leather car seat?
No. Handicare prints that it cannot be used on leather or rubberized upholstery. Ask us for another transfer method if the seat is leather.
Can the person stay on the disc while the car is moving?
Yes. Handicare writes that the user remains seated on TurnTableSoft during travel, and that they must wear a seatbelt. Use the same rotate-and-lift-the-legs method to get out.
How do I wash it?
It is machine washable. Read the label on the disc. Do not use fabric softener. Avoid tumble drying. Inspect it after every wash. Handicare's textile sheet for manual devices allows 60-80 C (140-176 F) water.
Does a belt or lift bar come with it?
No. You get one TurnTableSoft in the size you pick. A ReTurnBelt belongs on the ReTurn, not on this disc.
Who can use it?
Someone who can sit and turn, mainly for car seats, also for chairs and beds, inside 150 kg (330 lb), on cloth or other non-leather, non-rubberized surfaces. If they cannot sit and rotate, start with a lift assessment instead.
What is the expected life?
Handicare prints up to 10 years of normal use. Replace the disc when the cloth, seams, or slide layer show wear.
How fast can a purchased disc be delivered in the GTA?
Westin delivers purchased goods across Brampton and the GTA on a scheduled date. Call (905) 451-7743 for the next opening. Same-day delivery belongs to the rental service, not automatically to a purchased disc.
