Description
The Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter is Drive item 477200252, a bath lift chair for elderly use that sits in a standard bathtub. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The lithium-ion battery lives in the floating hand control. Drive prints a 300 lb (136 kg) rating.
The seat lowers to 2.3 in (5.8 cm) and rises to 18.8 in (47.8 cm). The backrest reclines to 50 degrees at the lowest position. Drive prints the unit at 20.5 lb (9.3 kg) without the hand control. Setup is tool-free. The four suction cups are for smooth tub floors only, not textured surfaces.
Who this bath lift is for
This bath lift is for a person who stays at or under the 300 lb rating and who wants to sit down at the rim, lower into the water, and rise again without a transfer bench that bridges the tub wall. Families usually call us when they want a powered seat in the tub they already have.
If the person needs to sit outside the tub and slide in, start with the Drive Combination Transfer Bench and Commode. If you want the Medline portable lift instead, see the Medline EZ Bath Lift.
- A seated soak in a standard tub, with a powered raise and lower
- Sitting height 2.3 in to 18.8 in
- Tool-free two-piece setup, back folds for storage
Battery and hand control
The lithium-ion battery is inside the watertight hand control. Charge the hand control on the supplied charger, then plug the control into the backrest. Drive's product copy says intelligent power control lets the lift lower only when there is enough charge to raise the person again. Charge the hand control before the first use and keep it charged so that lockout does not stop a planned bath.
Washable hygienic covers are sold separately. A headrest is optional. Drive lists those as extras, not as parts in the carton.

Bath lift chair or transfer bench
A bath lift chair for elderly use sits inside the tub and raises and lowers on a battery. A transfer bench bridges the tub wall so the person sits outside and slides in. The Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter is a bath lift. It is not a transfer bench and it is not a shower commode.
If the person cannot step over the tub wall and does not want a powered seat, start with the Drive Combination Transfer Bench and Commode. If they want a seated wash with a bidet and no battery, see the PreserveTech Aquachair Bathing System with Bidet.
Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Frequently asked questions
How Does a Bath Lift Work?
The Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter is a battery seat that sits in the tub. You sit on the seat at the rim, use the hand control to lower into the water, bathe, then raise the seat back to the rim and stand or transfer off.
Will The Bellavita Lower If The Battery Is Low?
Drive's product copy says the Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter lowers only when there is enough charge to raise the person again. Charge the hand control so that lockout does not stop a planned bath.
How Long Does The Bellavita Battery Last?
The Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter keeps the lithium-ion battery in the floating hand control. Drive's catalog sheet does not print a cycle count. Charge the hand control on the supplied charger and treat a low battery as a reason to charge before the next bath.
What Is the Weight Capacity of the Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter?
The Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter, Drive item 477200252, is rated at 300 lb (136 kg). Stay at or under that rating.
Is This a Bath Lift or a Transfer Bench?
The Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter is a bath lift. It sits inside the tub and raises and lowers. A transfer bench bridges the tub wall so the person sits outside and slides in. Use a transfer bench if the person cannot step over the tub wall and does not want a powered seat.
Will The Suction Cups Hold on a Textured Tub?
Drive prints that the Bellavita suction cups adhere to smooth surfaces only, and not to textured surfaces. Do not rely on the cups on a rough or pebble-finish tub.
Does ADP Cover a Bath Lift in Ontario?
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program lists bath lifts with other bath and shower aids that ADP does not cover. Other routes may still help. Call (905) 451-7743 and we will point you to the programs that fit.
Is This the Same as the Bellavita Dive?
No. This card is Drive item 477200252, the Bellavita Auto Bath Lifter. Drive's current shop card for a newer lift is the Bellavita Dive, item 477400252, with a different sitting-height band. Ask us before you treat them as the same carton.
