Description
The Travel Buggy Dash 3 is the current Flightweight folding power chair from the Canadian manufacturer Travel Buggy. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. The person drives with the joystick. The frame front-folds. When it is folded, extra wheels come out so you can roll it like a suitcase.
Travel Buggy prints 42 lb without the batteries, 4 lb lighter than the previous Dash, a 265 lb capacity, and a 15 km (9.5 mile) range on the 24V 10Ah pack. Top speed is 6 km/h (3.7 mph). Turning radius is 24 inches. This is the lightest current Dash. It is not the lightest chair in the Travel Buggy family. That is the Aerolux 2C at 33 lb net.
Who this chair is for
This chair is for a person who wants a folding power chair they can roll after the fold, who fits the 17.5 by 17 inch seat, and who stays at or under Travel Buggy's 265 lb rating. Families usually call us when a 60 lb City 2 Plus is too much chair, and they still want a joystick rather than a tiller.
If you want a 33 lb carbon lift, see the Aerolux 2C. If you need a 350 lb rating and loading wheels, see the Grand Tourer. The Dash 3 is a folding power chair, not a caregiver transport chair and not the Helix scooter.
- 42 lb without the battery, magnesium parts, dark grey metallic frame
- 24 inch turning radius and 15 km printed range
- Front-fold that rolls like a suitcase
Range, speed, and batteries
The Travel Buggy Dash 3 travels up to 15 km (9.5 miles) per charge on one Li-Ion 24 V / 10 Ah pack. Range changes with the person's weight, the ground, battery condition, and how much you stop and start.
Top speed is 6 km/h (3.7 mph). Motors are 2 x 170 W brushless. Travel Buggy calls them quieter than the previous Dash. Charge with the charger that ships with the chair. Travel Buggy does not print a clock time to full on the Dash 3 card, so we do not invent one.
Portability and transport
The Dash 3 front-folds like a lawn chair, the same family fold as the City 2 Plus. Folded size on the current card is 30 by 24 by 13.5 inches. After the fold, wheels come out of the frame so you can roll it. Travel Buggy also shows a lift point for a one-piece carry.
Travel Buggy's Dash 3 FAQ says all Flightweight models are approved to be taken on your travels. The Dash 3 spec table does not print Airline Approved Battery or a watt-hour figure. Air Canada and WestJet still set their own rules. Ask the airline before you book. We only repeat what Travel Buggy prints.

Funding help for a power wheelchair in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a power wheelchair when the need is long-term and the chair is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every chair qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
