Description
The Drive Elland standard grab handle is Drive item 15006LPSTDRAIL, the standard grab handle Drive lists for the SoLite Pro Low. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and fits it on that frame for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. On our SoLite Pro package this is the included rail choice.
A grab handle is a grip for sitting up or transferring. It is not a full-length side rail. If the therapist asked for full-length coverage on the same bed, see the Drive Grange telescopic side rails. If a lower handle is required, see the Drive Elland short grab handle.
Which beds this fits
Drive's 15006LP brochure and the North American owner manual name 15006LPSTDRAIL only as an accessory for the Drive SoLite Pro 15006LP. The manual says accessories that have not been approved or designed for use with the bed must not be used.
Do not put this handle on a Drive Delta 1000, a Delta 15235, a 15005LP, or a Drive LW bariatric bed. Those frames take 15201BV, 15001ABV, or 15021BV-LW. Do not put it on a Joerns, PrimeCare, Harmony, or Medline frame.
- Fits: Drive SoLite Pro Low 15006LP
- Does not fit: Delta family, 15005LP, LW bariatric, MedLite, Joerns, PrimeCare, Harmony
Drive Elland standard grab handle specifications
These notes are for Westin SKU 15006LPSTDRAIL. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's 15006LP brochure describes optional grab handles in two heights, standard and short, and states that rail accessories meet FDA and ASTM entrapment guidelines and standards. Drive does not publish a standalone NA height, width, weight, or capacity table for this handle, so those numbers are not invented here.
Drive's North American owner manual warns that care must be taken when raising the backrest when this standard grab handle is fitted, because the gap between the handle and the mattress retainers can introduce a finger entrapment hazard, depending on position. The manual points to the grab handle instruction sheet for positioning. We set that position when we fit the handle.
Drive gives the accessories in that manual section a 10-year service life when they are serviced with the bed. Service life is not the same as a spare-parts warranty year. Ask us what term we honour on the invoice.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and fits this handle across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, attach it to the SoLite Pro frame, and show you the grip and the backrest clearance before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see the handle first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased handles are delivered and fitted on a scheduled date.
Hospital bed accessories travel with the bed they fit. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the order is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Warranty
When something on this handle needs work, you call the shop that fitted it. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Drive service life and warranty
Drive's North American SoLite Pro manual gives 15006LPSTDRAIL a 10-year service life if the bed and the accessory are maintained as that manual describes. The printed 10 / 5 / 2 warranty paragraph in the same manual is for the bed. Ask us which term we honour on an Elland invoice. We handle the claim with you.
Frequently asked questions
Which bed does the Elland standard handle fit?
Only the Drive SoLite Pro Low 15006LP. It is the standard grab handle Drive lists for that frame.
Is it the same as a full-length rail?
No. This is a grab handle for sitting up or transferring. Grange 15006LEXRAIL is the telescopic full-length rail for the same bed.
When would I pick the short handle instead?
When the therapist asks for the lower grab handle. That SKU is 15006LSHRTRAIL. Call us if you are not sure which height was requested.
What is the finger-gap warning?
Drive's North American manual says care must be taken when raising the backrest with 15006LPSTDRAIL fitted, because the gap at the mattress retainers can introduce a finger entrapment hazard. We follow the accessory instructions when we fit it.
Can I put this handle on a Delta bed?
No. Delta frames take 15201BV or 15001ABV. This handle is a SoLite Pro part.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the handle with the cleaner your clinician allows. Do not power-wash the bed or the handle.
What is the warranty?
Drive prints a 10-year service life for this accessory with the bed. Ask us for the commercial term on your invoice. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
Is this handle already on the SoLite Pro package?
On our SoLite Pro page the standard Elland handle is the included CHOOSE SIDE RAILS choice. You can switch to the short handle or to Grange rails on that page, or order this handle on its own for a SoLite Pro that arrived without one.
