Drive Bed Extension Kit for 15004P & 15005LP - 15005EXTKIT-L

The Drive Bed Extension Kit 15005EXTKIT-L adds 4 inches of sleep length to two Drive homecare frames: the 15004P semi-electric and the 15005LP full-electric low-height bed. Westin Healthcare sells the kit in Brampton and can fit it when we deliver and set up a matching bed across the Greater Toronto Area. Drive's current card says it is easy to install. It is not the Delta Ultra-Light kit, and it is not a PrimeCare kit.

Which beds this fits

Drive's current shop card prints one compatibility line for this SKU: 15004P and 15005LP. The family downloadPdf describes it as an 84 inch bed extension kit for 15004 and 15005 Linak motors. Do not put this kit on a Delta, a PrimeCare, a SoLite Pro, or a bariatric LW frame.

• The Drive 15005LP is the Westin bed that takes this kit. Drive's 15005LP sheet says the kit extends length from 80 inches to 84 inches
• Drive 15004P, the semi-electric sibling. Westin does not list 15004P as a current bed page. If that frame is already in the home, confirm the model label before we book a visit

It does not fit the Drive Delta 1000 or the Drive Delta 15235. Those Ultra-Light frames use 15030EXTKIT. It does not fit the Drive SoLite Pro (15006LP). It does not fit the Drive PrimeCare P703 (76 / 80 / 84 inches are already on that frame; 88 inches is P703LE) or the Drive PrimeCare P903 (80 / 84 / 88 inches are already on that frame).

After this kit is on, the mattress and the sheets have to grow with the deck. Use an 84 inch, 36 inch-wide mattress and the Drive Fitted Sheets Extended 15030HBL-3684. If you keep an 80 inch mattress on the longer deck, a 4 inch gap can appear at the head or foot. The Drive Mattress Extender 3835-4 is a foam gap filler, not a substitute for this frame kit.

The kit does not change the 15005LP weight ratings (350 lb patient / 450 lb total on Drive's current 15005LP sheet).

We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see the bed and this kit first. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased beds and their kits are delivered on a scheduled date.

Hospital beds are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply when this kit travels with a bed. Drive names 15004P and 15005LP only. The Westin bed that uses this kit is the Drive 15005LP. It does not fit a Delta 1000, a 15235, a SoLite Pro, a P703, or a P903.

How much length does it add?

Four inches. Drive's 15005LP sheet says the kit extends length from 80 inches to 84 inches.

Is this the same kit as 15030EXTKIT?

No. 15030EXTKIT is the Delta Ultra-Light kit for 15030, 15033, 15230, and 15235. Putting the wrong kit on a frame is a safety issue. Match the model label on the bed.

Do I need a new mattress?

Yes, if you want the extra length under the person. Order an 84 inch, 36 inch-wide mattress and 84 inch sheets. Keeping an 80 inch mattress leaves a gap at the end of the deck.

Is it tool-free?

Drive's words are easy-to-install. Drive does not print a tool-free claim on this SKU. Westin can fit the kit at delivery.

Does the kit change the weight capacity?

No. Stay on the 15005LP ratings Drive publishes for that frame: 350 lb patient weight and 450 lb total weight.

What is the warranty?
