Description
The Drive 15001ABV is a pair of telescoping full-length hospital-bed rails. Westin Healthcare sells them, delivers them, and fits them on the matching Drive frame for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Drive builds them from 1 inch steel with a brown-vein finish. They telescope as the bed moves.
These are the official full rails in Drive's 36 inch homecare kits. If you want the half-length pair on the same family, see the Drive 15201BV half rails. Do not put this full rail on a Drive lightweight bariatric bed. Those frames have no Drive full-length rail.
Which beds this fits
On Westin's floor the official Drive kits that use 15001ABV are the Drive Delta 1000 full-rail packages, the Drive Delta 15235 (kit 15235BV-FR), and the Drive 15005LP (kits 15005LP-FR, FRPKG, FRPKG-TS, and PKG-G7).
Drive does not list a full-length rail for the 15300LW, 15302LW, or 15303LW series. Do not order 15001ABV for those beds. Use Drive 15021BV-LW instead. Do not put 15001ABV on the SoLite Pro 15006LP (that bed takes Grange telescopic rails). Do not put it on a Joerns, PrimeCare, or Harmony frame. Medline's field correction says a MedLite should use Medline rails only, not this Drive pair.
- Fits: Drive Delta 1000, Drive Delta 15235, Drive 15005LP
- Does not fit: Drive 15300LW / 15302LW / 15303LW, SoLite Pro 15006LP, Joerns, PrimeCare, Harmony. Not an official MedLite rail
If you are not sure which rail the therapist asked for, call (905) 451-7743 with the bed model before you order.
Drive 15001ABV specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU 15001ABV. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's current sheet lists 1 inch steel, a brown-vein finish, spring-loaded release to raise or lower the rail, spring-loaded crossbars, and a limited lifetime warranty. The rails telescope with the movement of the bed.
Drive's full-rail instruction sheet tells the installer to set the crossbraces 45 to 72 inches apart, to keep the outer telescoping tube at the head end, and to keep the telescoping length at least 47 inches when the head and foot of the bed are raised so the rail does not bottom out and bind the motors. If the bed is in a semi Fowler position and a gap appears beside the mattress, Drive says to put the rail in the MID position.
Drive does not print a separate weight capacity or a 15 to 20 inch height band on the current sheet, so those older listing numbers are not repeated here.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and fits this rail across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, attach it to the matching bed frame, and show you how it raises, lowers, and telescopes before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see the rail first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased rails are delivered and fitted on a scheduled date.
Hospital bed rails travel with the bed they fit. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the order is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Warranty
When something on this rail needs work, you call the shop that fitted it, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Drive manufacturer warranty
Drive's current 15001ABV spec sheet and the full-rail instruction sheet both state a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. The instruction sheet excludes misuse, negligence, normal wear, and non-durable parts such as rubber, casters, and grips. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
Which Westin beds take Drive 15001ABV?
The official Drive kits we sell are the Delta 1000 full-rail packages, the Delta 15235 hi-low, and the 15005LP low-height bed.
Will these rails fit a Drive bariatric bed?
No. Drive does not list a full-length rail for 15300LW, 15302LW, or 15303LW. Those frames take 15021BV-LW half rails only.
How far apart do the crossbraces sit?
Drive's instruction sheet says 45 to 72 inches. Older listing text that said 45 to 75 inches is not used here.
What happens if the rail is too short when the bed articulates?
Drive warns that if the telescoping length is less than 47 inches when the head and foot ends are raised, the rail bottoms out and can bind the bed drive. We set that length when we fit the pair.
How do I raise or lower the rail?
Drive describes a spring-loaded release. Hold the rail, pull the knob, move the rail, and let the knob click into the hole or against the rail stop. Match the head and foot ends so both sides sit at the same height.
How do I clean them?
Wipe the brown-vein steel with the cleaner your clinician allows. Do not power-wash the bed or the rails.
What is the warranty?
Drive states a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
Can I put this pair on a Medline MedLite?
Medline tells MedLite owners to use Medline rails only. The official Medline full rail is MDS89694N. Call us if that is the style the therapist asked for.
