Drive designed the Harmony system to prevent, treat and heal pressure injuries in the home or long-term care setting. Twenty 8-inch air cells sit over a 2-inch foam base. The blower adds true low air loss, pulsation, and alternating pressure. Overall height is 10 inches.

Who this mattress is for

This mattress is for a person who needs a full replacement with true low air loss and three therapy modes, not a compressor-style micro low air loss surface. Construction and how it works

This is a mattress replacement. Twenty 8-inch cells sit on a 2-inch foam base. Alternating pressure moves load on a 5, 10, 15, or 20 minute cycle. Pulsation changes airflow up and down. True low air loss blows air under a vapour-permeable cover to help with heat and moisture. Head-end cells stay more static (pillow feature).

The digital control unit hangs on the footboard. Drive lists AutoFirm (cells fill in under two minutes), Seat Inflate, lock-out, and three diagnostic alarms for air pressure, the system, or power. A CPR valve dumps the air. A cable loop keeps the power cord off the floor. A carry bag is included. The current 14200N cover is a removable quilted four-way stretch polyurethane with an antimicrobial treatment that protects the cover, not the person.

Drive's current 14200N pages list 36, 42, and 48 inches by 80 inches by 10 inches, a 2-year warranty, four cycle times, HCPCS E0277, and a high-flow true low air loss blower. Drive's 36-inch 14200N page says the system can accommodate patients up to 550 lbs. The 42-inch and 48-inch spec table still prints 400 lbs for the 36-inch width and does not print separate 42 or 48 capacities. How is Harmony different from Med Aire Plus?

Both are Drive replacements with alternating pressure. Harmony is a high-flow true low air loss blower with pulsation, a 10-inch height, and a 2-year warranty. Med Aire Plus is an 8 LPM digital compressor with cell-on-cell, an 8-inch height, and 18 months.

Is this an overlay or a replacement?

How do I clean the cover?

The quilted four-way stretch cover is removable, fluid-resistant, and vapour-permeable. Follow Drive's user instructions for wipe-down. Do not immerse the blower. Drive's antimicrobial treatment is there to protect the cover.
