Description
The Med Aire Plus 14060 is Drive Medical's 60-inch bariatric alternating-pressure and low-air-loss replacement. Westin Healthcare sells it, delivers it, and sets it up for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is the widest member of the 10-inch Plus family, rated 1000 lbs like the 54-inch 14054, but built for a 60-inch deck.
Drive lists a 60-inch by 80-inch by 10-inch surface. The 14030XP digital control unit is rated 12 litres per minute, with a 20 to 60 mmHg pressure range on the owner manual. Cell-on-cell cells hold a lower chamber of air for up to 24 hours if the power goes out.
Who this mattress is for
This mattress is for a person who needs a 60-inch sleep surface and a powered air system at Drive's 1000 lb rating. It will not sit on a 42-, 48-, or 54-inch deck. Drive designed the bariatric Plus systems to prevent, treat and heal all stages of pressure ulcers in the home or long-term care setting. The clinician who knows the person's skin still decides if this class is right.
If the bed is 54 inches, use the Med Aire Plus 14054. If 48 inches is enough, use the Med Aire Plus 14048. Confirm the deck width before you order. Westin's Drive homecare bariatric beds stop at 54 inches (15303LW); a 60-inch mattress needs a 60-inch frame.
- Home care or facility use on a 60-inch by 80-inch bariatric deck
- A therapist request for alternating pressure and low air loss at a 1000 lb rating on that width
- Anyone whose 54-inch Plus leaves the deck uncovered
Construction and how it works
This is a full replacement. Twenty 10-inch cells sit on the 60-inch deck. Alternating pressure moves the load on a chosen cycle. Low air loss vents a little air for microclimate. Head-end cells stay more static (pillow feature).
Cell-on-cell construction keeps a lower chamber inflated if the pump stops. Drive states up to 24 hours of outage protection. The 14030XP digital unit is shared with the 42-, 48-, and 54-inch Plus surfaces. It includes Auto-Firm, Seat Inflate, auto-recovery, lock-out, and three diagnostic alarms. First fill can take up to 40 minutes; Drive's 14427QF quick-fill accessory is sold separately.
The quilted nylon cover is removable, fluid-resistant, low-shear, and vapour-permeable. Cells disconnect for service. A CPR valve dumps the air. Tubing uses EZ Lock / Quick Release.
Med Aire Plus 14060 specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU 14060. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's shop listing for this SKU prints 60 inches by 80 inches by 10 inches, a 1000 lb capacity, visual and audible alarms, and an 18-month limited warranty. The 14030XP owner manual prints 12 litres per minute and 20 to 60 mmHg. Drive's shop table and that manual disagree on the four cycle-minute values, so this page does not invent a minute list. The pump has four selectable cycle times.
Warranty for the original purchaser is 18 months on the control unit and mattress.
Size and what is included
This listing is one size: 60 inches by 80 inches by 10 inches. There is no size picker. You get the 60-inch mattress and the 14030XP digital control unit. Do not order this SKU for a 54-inch 15303LW. Sister widths are 14030, 14048, and 14054.
Funding help for a therapeutic mattress in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not cover hospital beds or mattresses, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: ODSP, March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), hardship funding programs, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up this mattress across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, place it on the bed, connect the control unit, and show you the pump before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a mattress first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased mattresses are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
Hospital-bed mattresses are oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the mattress is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.
Which Westin beds this mattress fits
The sleep surface is 60 inches by 80 inches. It needs a 60-inch deck. Drive's 15300LW / 15302LW / 15303LW homecare frames stop at 54 inches, so this mattress is not the match for those three beds.
- The closest Drive bariatric homecare bed we list is the Drive 15303LW 54-inch bed, which takes the 14054, not this 60-inch surface
- The next narrower Plus surface is the Med Aire Plus 14054
Call (905) 451-7743 so we can confirm the frame width before we book delivery.
Service and warranty
When the pump or a cell needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a US parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Drive manufacturer warranty
Drive covers the original purchaser for 18 months on the 14030XP control unit and the 14060 mattress. We handle the warranty claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
Frequently asked questions
How is the 14060 different from the 54-inch 14054?
Same 10-inch cell-on-cell Plus construction, same 12 LPM 14030XP pump, same 1000 lb rating, same 18-month warranty. The only size change is width: 60 inches versus 54 inches. Match the mattress to the deck.
Will this mattress fit a Drive 15303LW?
No. The 15303LW is a 54-inch bed. That frame takes the 14054. A 60-inch mattress overhangs or bunches on a 54-inch deck.
What does 12 litres per minute mean for this mattress?
The 14030XP moves more air than the 8 LPM pump on the 36-inch Plus. That extra flow is how Drive fills a 60-inch, 10-inch cell-on-cell surface.
How do I clean the cover?
The quilted nylon cover is removable, fluid-resistant, and vapour-permeable. Follow Drive's user manual for washer settings and disinfectant. Do not immerse the control unit.
What is the weight rating?
Drive lists 1000 lbs for 14060. Confirm the bed's safe working load is at least that, including the mattress and accessories.
How loud is the pump?
Drive does not print a decibel number on the 14030XP sheet. The digital unit hangs on the footboard and has lock-out.
What happens if the power goes out?
Cell-on-cell chambers hold a lower layer of air. Drive states up to 24 hours of outage protection. The cycle does not resume until power returns.
What is the warranty?
18 months on the control unit and mattress for the original purchaser. Westin Healthcare processes the claim.
Does funding cover this mattress in Ontario?
Some Ontario routes can help with a therapeutic support surface. Eligibility depends on the person's situation and assessment. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the funding page before you buy.
Can I rent a powered mattress before I buy?
Westin Healthcare rents hospital-bed packages that include a therapeutic mattress. See current packages on the hospital bed rentals page. Ask us whether this 60-inch Plus system can be added to a rental.
