Description
The Drive M-Rail 1222P is a home-bed assist handle. Westin Healthcare sells it and can deliver it across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. Drive designed it to provide support when getting into and out of bed and when moving from a lying position to a sitting position. It straps to a regular home mattress or box spring. It is not a hospital-bed side rail.
The handle is an M shape with more than one crossbar, so a person can take a grip at more than one height. Drive makes it from powder coated steel and includes an accessory pouch. If the person needs a hospital bed with factory rails instead of a strap-on handle, see the Drive Delta 1000.
Which beds this fits
Drive's current spec sheet says the extra-long safety strap wraps around a mattress or box spring so the handle can be used on a single, twin, double, queen, or king home bed. The strap, not a hospital-frame socket, is what holds it.
This handle does not click onto a hospital-bed frame. Do not use it as a substitute for the factory rails on the Drive Delta 1000, the Drive Delta 15235, the Drive SoLite Pro 15006LP, or any other Westin hospital bed. Those frames take the rails Drive or Medline designed for them.
- Fits: regular home beds, single through king, when the strap can wrap the mattress or box spring
- Does not fit: hospital-bed rail sockets on Drive, Medline, Joerns, or other medical frames
If you already have a hospital bed and need rails, call (905) 451-7743 with the bed model before you order a handle.
Drive M-Rail 1222P specifications
These figures are for Westin SKU 1222P. The specification tab holds the stored values. Drive's current M-Rail sheet lists a 300 lb weight capacity and a limited lifetime warranty. Drive names powder coated steel, an M-shaped handle with multiple crossbars, a safety strap, and an accessory pouch. Drive does not print an overall length, width, or product weight on that sheet, so those numbers are not repeated here.
Assembly is the strap and the handle. Drive calls the assembly easy and quick. The pouch is for a remote, glasses, or similar items beside the bed.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Drive M-Rail 1222P fit a hospital bed?
No. Drive lists this handle for a regular home bed, held by a strap around the mattress or box spring. Hospital frames use factory rails. If you have a Drive Delta or another medical bed, call us with that model before you order.
Which home bed sizes does Drive name?
Drive's spec sheet names single, twin, double, queen, or king. The extra-long safety strap is what makes those sizes possible.
How is it installed?
Drive describes easy, quick assembly. The safety strap wraps around the mattress or box spring. We can fit it during a Brampton or GTA visit, or you can collect it from a store and follow the sheet in the carton.
What is the weight rating?
Drive's current spec sheet lists 300 lbs.
Is this a rail to keep someone from rolling out of bed?
Drive describes the M-Rail as support for getting into and out of bed and for moving from lying to sitting. It is a transfer handle, not a hospital side rail. If a therapist asked for full-length or half-length hospital rails, ask us about the rail that matches that bed.
How do I clean it?
Drive names powder coated steel for long life and easy cleaning. Wipe the steel and the grip with the cleaner your clinician allows. Do not soak the pouch.
Is the M-Rail the same as the recalled Drive 15064 handle?
No. Drive 15064 and RTL15063-ADJ are recalled portable handles. 1222P is a different SKU still listed on Drive's shop. If you have a 15064 or RTL15063-ADJ in the house, stop using it and call us.
What is the warranty?
Drive's current sheet states a limited lifetime warranty. Westin Healthcare processes the claim. Details are on our service and repairs page.
Can I see it before I buy?
Yes. We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area. Call (905) 451-7743 to check stock and book a time.
