Description
The Drive 6 inch raised toilet seat is Drive Medical's 12066 seat for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It adds 6 inches (15 cm) on a standard toilet bowl and ships without a lid. Drive rates it at 400 lb (181 kg).
This is the tallest seat in Drive's locking raised toilet seat ladder. Drive's current Canadian card does not list a 6 inch seat with a lid. The next step down without a lid is the Drive RTL12064 4 inch seat.
Who this raised toilet seat is for
This seat is for a person who wants a 6 inch lift on a standard bowl, stays at or under Drive's 400 lb rating, and does not need a lid on the riser. Families here usually call when 2 inch or 4 inch still leaves the sit-to-stand too low.
Drive writes that the seat is for people who have difficulty sitting down or standing up from the toilet. That is Drive's sentence, not a diagnosis. Westin does not give medical advice.
- 6 inch (15 cm) lift on a standard toilet bowl
- No lid on Drive 12066
- 400 lb (181 kg) locking plastic seat, not an arm model
Height and bowl fit
Drive prints 6 inches of added height for 12066. The same family also makes 2 inch and 4 inch seats. Drive's sheet for this family says it fits standard toilets. It does not print an elongated SKU in this ladder.
Measure the bowl, not the old seat lid. If the bowl is elongated, stay off this family and look at the Drive 12013 elongated seat or the Drive 12402 riser. Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want the bowl checked on the floor.
- Added height 6 in (15 cm)
- Seat 14 in W by 16 in D (36 cm by 41 cm)
- Standard bowls only on this Drive sheet
Design, lock, and install
The seat is heavy-duty moulded plastic. Drive prints that it is made using recycled materials. 12066 does not include a lid.
Drive's lock is a larger worm screw and locking plate. Drive says no tools are required for installation and that the lock is for a secure fit. We show you that screw at delivery. Drive does not print stud or wall-anchor steps for this seat, because it clamps to the bowl, not to the wall.
Drive 6" Raised Toilet Seat without Lid specifications
These figures are from Drive's current Raised Toilet Seat with/without Lid sheet for SKU 12066. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the sheet when they fight.
Added height 6 in (15 cm). Seat 14 in W by 16 in D (36 cm by 41 cm). Weight capacity 400 lb (181 kg). Fits standard toilets. No lid. Worm-screw lock and locking plate. Tool-free install. Limited Lifetime warranty. Drive does not print a unit weight on this sheet.
Raised toilet seat heights: 2, 4, or 6 inch
Stay on 12066 if 6 inches without a lid is the fit on a standard bowl. Step down to the Drive 4 inch seat without lid (RTL12064) or the Drive 2 inch seat without lid (12062). All three share Drive's 400 lb rating and the worm-screw lock.
If you want arms on a 5 inch Drive seat, use the Drive 2-in-1 RTL12027RA. Drive's current Canadian card does not list a 6 inch with-lid twin.
Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
