Description
The Drive elongated raised toilet seat is Drive Medical's 12013 seat for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It adds 5 inches (13 cm) on most elongated bowls, includes tool-free arms 21 inches (53 cm) apart, and Drive rates it at 300 lb (136 kg).
This is the elongated lock seat with arms. It is not the Drive RTL12027RA and it is not the 3.5 inch Drive 12402 riser.
Who this raised toilet seat is for
This seat is for a person who has an elongated bowl, wants a 5 inch lift, stays at or under Drive's 300 lb rating, and wants arms that can come off for a transfer. Families here usually call when the 2 / 4 / 6 inch ladder will not sit on an elongated bowl.
Drive writes that the seat is for people who have difficulty sitting down or getting up from the toilet. That is Drive's sentence, not a diagnosis. Westin does not give medical advice.
- 5 inch (13 cm) lift on most elongated toilets
- Tool-free arms, 21 in (53 cm) apart
- 300 lb (136 kg) lock seat, SKU 12013
Height and bowl fit
Drive prints 5 inches of added height and a seat of 17 in D by 15.5 in W by 5 in H (43 cm by 39 cm by 13 cm). Drive says it fits most elongated toilets. Do not put 12013 on a short standard bowl. For a standard bowl with no arms, use the Drive 4 inch seat with lid.
Measure the bowl, not the old seat lid. An elongated bowl is longer front to back than a standard bowl. Come into a Brampton or Toronto store if you want the bowl checked on the floor.
- Added height 5 in (13 cm)
- Seat 15.5 in W by 17 in D (39 cm by 43 cm)
- Most elongated toilets, Drive's words
Design, lock, and install
The seat is heavy-duty moulded plastic. Drive prints that it is made using recycled materials. Drive also prints a wide opening in the front and back for personal hygiene. The arms are tool-free and sit 21 in (53 cm) apart.
Drive prints a standard locking mechanism. Drive says no tools are required for installation. We show you that lock and the arm lift at delivery. Drive does not print stud or wall-anchor steps for this seat, because it locks to the bowl, not to the wall.

Raised toilet seat heights: 2, 4, or 6 inch
12013 is a 5 inch elongated arm seat, not a member of the 2 / 4 / 6 inch standard-bowl ladder. Stay here if the bowl is elongated and you want those 21 inch arms. For a standard bowl with no arms, use the Drive 2 inch seat with lid or the Drive 6 inch seat.
The Drive RTL12027RA is also 5 inches with arms, printed for most toilets, with 18 in (46 cm) arm spacing and a worm-screw lock. The Drive 12402 is a 3.5 inch riser that keeps the household seat and lid. It is not this 12013.
Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation.
