Description
The Drive deluxe steel drop-arm commode is Drive Medical's 11125KD-1 chair for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. One arm drops for a side transfer. Drive rates it at 300 lb (136 kg).
This is the hard-seat drop-arm chair in Drive's steel ladder. The padded-seat sister is the Drive 11125PSKD-1. Neither chair folds. Neither chair has wheels.
Who this commode is for
This commode chair is for a person who wants a stationary bedside commode, stays at or under Drive's 300 lb rating, and needs one arm to drop for a lateral transfer. Families here usually call when the toilet is a long walk at night and a wheelchair or bed transfer is part of the routine.
Drive writes that the drop arm is for ease of transfers and that the chair is a lightweight commode with increased width between the arms. That is Drive's sentence, not a diagnosis. Westin does not give medical advice.
- Drop arm for a side transfer
- Seat height 20 to 24 in (51 to 61 cm)
- 300 lb (136 kg) powder-coated steel frame, not a folding frame
Drop arm, seat, and pail
The frame is steel with a powder-coated finish. Drive's current 11125KD-1 sheet prints a 13.75 to 16.5 in (35 to 42 cm) seat and 19.75 in (50 cm) between the arms. Drive's commode compare chart prints 23.5 in (60 cm) outside the arms and a 7.5 qt (7.1 L) bucket.
The current one-page sheet does not print a splash shield, a seat lid, or a carry handle on this SKU. Do not assume the 12 qt pail that older dealer pages still repeat. If you need a printed splash shield for over-toilet use, start with the Drive 11148N-4 folding commode.
Legs adjust without tools. Drive does not print wall-anchor or stud steps for this chair, because it stands on the floor.
Drive Deluxe Steel Drop-Arm Commode specifications
These figures are from Drive's current 11125KD-1 sheet and Drive's published commode compare chart. The specification tab holds the stored values. Use the sheet when they fight.

Drop-arm, folding, or bariatric commode
A drop-arm commode chair drops one side so a person can slide across from a bed or wheelchair. A folding commode chair flattens for a car or a closet and, on Drive's 11148 and RTL11158 sheets, ships with a splash shield for stand-alone or over-toilet use. A bariatric commode chair is the heavier Drive frame: 650 lb (295 kg) on the Drive 11117N-1 or 1000 lb (454 kg) on the Drive 11135-1.
Stay on 11125KD-1 if 300 lb and a hard seat are the fit. Step to 11125PSKD-1 for Drive's padded, deeper seat. For a folding 3-in-1 commode with a printed splash shield, use 11148N-4 or the Drive RTL11158KDR retail folder.
Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.

Drop-Arm Or Folding Commode?
The Drive deluxe steel drop-arm commode stays assembled and drops one arm. The Drive 11148N-4 folds flat and ships with a splash shield. Pick the drop-arm if the transfer is from the side; pick the folder if you need to pack the chair away.
