Description
The Drive aluminum shower chair and commode is Drive Medical's 11114KD-1 for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It is a 14 lb (6.4 kg) aluminum commode on 3 inch (8 cm) swivel casters. Drive rates it at 300 lb (136 kg).
This is the light attendant chair in this family, not the padded rehab line. Two of the four casters lock at the rear. There is no 24 inch handrim. If you want flip-back arms and 5 inch casters, start with the Drive NRS185007.
Who this commode chair is for
This chair is for a person who stays at or under Drive's 300 lb (136 kg) rating and who wants a rolling commode a caregiver can push, not a self-propel shower commode wheelchair. Families here usually call when they want one chair that can sit at the bedside with the 12 qt bucket or roll into a walk-in shower.
Drive prints a padded open-front vinyl seat and plastic arms. It does not print a clinical diagnosis. Westin does not give medical advice.
- Attendant 3 inch casters, two rear locks
- 16 inch by 16 inch (41 cm by 41 cm) open-front seat
- 300 lb (136 kg) aluminum commode, 14 lb (6.4 kg) to lift
Wheels and who pushes it
Drive prints 3 inch non-skid, rust resistant, swivel casters, with two rear locking. All four wheels are small. A caregiver pushes the chair. The person in the seat does not have a handrim.
Lock the two rear casters before a transfer. Drive does not print a self-propel kit for 11114KD-1. For 24 inch rear wheels stay on the Drive NRS185006 self-propel chair, which Westin does not list today, or ask us about the Raz SP.
Over the toilet and in the shower
Drive prints a removable 12 qt commode bucket and cover. Drive does not print an over-toilet clearance height or an inside width on the 11114KD-1 sheet. Measure the bowl and the chair on the floor in Brampton or Toronto before you plan to straddle a toilet.
Drive prints aluminum construction that is lightweight and durable. Rust-resistant on this sheet is the caster line, not a rust-proof frame promise. Drive does not print anodized.

Shower chair, commode chair, or rehab shower commode
Stay on 11114KD-1 if you want the light 3 inch attendant commode. Step to the Drive NRS185007 for a padded 18 inch rehab seat on four 5 inch casters. The Drive NRS185008 is the 500 lb (227 kg) attendant chair. The Medline G1-504WCPX1 is the Medline transport chair, not this Drive SKU.
A bath seat sits in the tub and does not roll. A tilt rehab commode is a different product: see the Ezee Life HL190 if a therapist named tilt.
Funding help for bathroom safety equipment in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) does not fund bathroom safety equipment, so plan around other routes. Funding that may help instead: March of Dimes Canada's Home and Vehicle Modification Program, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), extended health plans, and community programs. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through before you buy.
