Description
The SystemRoMedic EasySlide is a tubular sliding sheet used to move a lying person sideways from one surface to another. The outer cover slides around the tube, so the person travels across the gap with very little friction and the caregivers pull rather than lift. Westin Healthcare supplies it across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area.
What EasySlide is for, and what it is not for
EasySlide is a transfer aid. The manufacturer describes placing the transfer slide under the person, completing the move between the bed and a gurney or shower trolley, and then removing the slide.
It is not a repositioning sheet. Repositioning someone within the bed, sliding them back up towards the pillows or turning them for pressure care, is a different task that uses a two-layer draw sheet system left in place on the mattress. Reaching for the wrong one of these two puts strain on the caregiver and risks a fall for the person, so it is worth being clear before you order. Call (905) 451-7743 or use the contact page and describe the task, and we will match the aid to it.
The manufacturer notes that rolling the person onto one side is easier with a draw sheet, so in practice the two products work alongside each other rather than replacing each other.
Three safety limits worth reading before you order
These come from the manufacturer manual and they change what a caregiver does at the bedside.
- The gap between the two surfaces must not exceed 5 cm. If the bed and the trolley cannot be brought that close, this is not the right product for that room.
- Lock the wheels on both surfaces before starting the transfer.
- Never leave the EasySlide under the person after the transfer, and do not position them close to the edge of the bed. A low-friction surface left in place is a fall risk.
The range
Use the selector to pick the slide on your quote:
- EasySlide, 190 x 60 cm (1020), the full-length slide for a whole-body lateral transfer. This is the article the published specifications below describe.
- EasySlide, 50 x 60 cm, microfibre (2020), a small launderable slide for shorter moves and limb positioning.
- EasySlide, 50 x 70 cm, disposable (2040), a small single-use slide where a launderable one is not wanted.
The two small slides are a different series from the 190 cm article, and the manufacturer publishes their load rating separately. We will confirm it with Savaria before you order either one, so tell us the person's weight when you ask.
EasySlide specifications
These figures are from the manufacturer user manual, and they describe article 1020. Do not read them onto the two small slides.

The manufacturer does not print a wash temperature for the EasySlide, so none is stated here. If your laundry needs one on file, ask us and we will get it from Savaria in writing.
Checking a slide is still safe to use
The manufacturer asks for a friction check: the surface should be smooth and slide effortlessly, compared against a new product. A slide that has stiffened or worn has lost the property the whole technique depends on, and a caregiver will compensate by lifting. Replace it rather than working around it.
Do not use rinse or fabric softener when laundering, because it coats the fibres and reduces the slide. Avoid tumble drying for the longest service life.
Delivery in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area, and we have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather handle one first. Sliding sheets ship as ordinary goods; terms are on the shipping policy page and any charge is confirmed on your order.
Service and warranty
Slides are consumable textiles and are replaced rather than repaired. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department for the lifts and trolleys they work alongside. Ask us for the Savaria terms that ship with your order.
Frequently asked questions
How much weight can the EasySlide take?
300 kg (660 lb) on article 1020, the 190 x 60 cm slide. The manufacturer publishes the rating for the two small slides separately, so we confirm those with Savaria rather than assuming they match.
Is EasySlide the same as a repositioning sheet?
No. EasySlide moves a person between two surfaces and comes out afterwards. A repositioning system stays on the bed and moves the person within it. Tell us the task and we will send the right one.
How close do the bed and the trolley need to be?
The gap between the two surfaces must not exceed 5 cm. If the room or the equipment will not allow that, EasySlide is not the right choice and we will suggest an alternative.
Can the slide stay under the person afterwards?
No. The manufacturer is explicit: never leave the EasySlide under the user after the transfer is complete, and do not position them near the edge of the bed. Remove it as part of the technique.
Which slide is launderable and which is disposable?
The 190 x 60 cm slide (1020) and the 50 x 60 cm microfibre slide (2020) are launderable. The 50 x 70 cm slide (2040) is disposable and is used once.
How do I know when to replace one?
Compare it against a new one. If it no longer slides effortlessly, or the fabric is worn, replace it. A slide that has lost its glide invites a manual lift, which is the thing it exists to prevent.
Do you carry other SystemRoMedic transfer aids?
Yes. The OneWaySlide allows movement in one direction only, and the EasyGlide is a hard sliding board for seated transfers. Both are listed with their own sizes.
