Description
The Fortress S410 mobility scooter is Sunrise Medical Canada's everyday 4-wheel Fortress. Westin Healthcare sells it and delivers it for homes in Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. It has the smallest turning radius in the current Fortress lineup. It is a current S-series scooter, not the older 1700-DT.
Sunrise's S410 brochure Rev.D lists two trims. Standard: 10 km/h, 300 lb (136 kg), 90 amp controller. High Performance: 10.5 km/h, 350 lb (159 kg), 120 amp controller. Both print a 34 km (21 mi) range, a 58.2 in turning radius, 10 in tyres, a 25.4 x 48 in chassis, and a 19 x 19 in seat. Colours are Black, Blue, and Red.
Who this scooter is for
This scooter is for a person who wants a 4 wheel mobility scooter for shops, halls, and neighbourhood streets, stays at or under the trim's weight rating, and wants a tighter turn than the S425. Families usually call us when a leftover 1700-DT is no longer the factory order, or when a travel scooter feels too small and a 15 km/h S700 feels too large.
If you want 12 km/h and 12 in outdoor tyres, see the Fortress S425. If you want 15 km/h and 13 in tyres, see the Fortress S700. If we still have a mid-size 1700-DT in the shop, that page is the Fortress 1700-DT 4-wheel.
- 58.2 in turning radius, smallest in the current Fortress lineup
- A printed 34 km (21 mi) range on Group 22 batteries
- Standard 300 lb / 10 km/h, or High Performance 350 lb / 10.5 km/h
Range, speed, and batteries
The Fortress S410 travels up to 34 km (21 mi) per charge on the brochure table, on both trims. That figure will shorten with rider weight, hills, cold, and aging Group 22 batteries. Top speed is 10 km/h on Standard and 10.5 km/h on High Performance.
The charger is an 8 amp unit on both trims. Charge with the charger Sunrise supplies. Keep the batteries off a concrete floor in winter. Do not run them flat. Sunrise does not print a product weight on the CA card or the brochure. We do not invent one.
Portability and transport
The Fortress S410 is a 48 in everyday scooter, not a suitcase scooter. Heaviest-piece weight is not printed. Westin delivers and assembles it. Do not plan to lift the whole scooter into a car by yourself.
This is not an airline scooter. Group 22 lead-acid batteries are not a cabin lithium pack. For a folding travel scooter we stock, see the Solax Transformer.
Fortress S410 specifications
These figures are from Sunrise Medical Canada's S410 card and brochure Rev.D. The specification tab holds the stored values.
Overall 25.4 in wide, 48 in long. Seat 19 x 19 in. Seat height 17.5-19.5 in. Turning radius 58.2 in. Tyres 10 in. Batteries Group 22. Charger 8 amp. Suspension yes. All-around LED lighting yes. Large Fortress-style wire basket standard. Colours Black, Blue, Red. Standard: 10 km/h, 300 lb, 90 amp. High Performance: 10.5 km/h, 350 lb, 120 amp. Range 34 km both.
The S410 is not on the April 2021 S425/S700 warranty matrix. Ask us which insert ships with your scooter. The S425/S700 matrix is 3 years frame and tiller, 2 years motor and electronics, 1 year seat and wear covers, and is a cousin, not a promise for the S410.
Color
Use Color to pick Black, Blue, or Red. Those are the three finishes on Sunrise's S410 brochure.
S410, S425, or a leftover 1700
The S410 is the everyday current Fortress: 58.2 in turn, 10 in tyres, 34 km printed range. The S425 is the 12 km/h outdoor step-up. The S700 is the 15 km/h outdoor flagship. The 1700-DT 4-wheel is leftover stock, no longer available to order from Sunrise, with a 57.5 in turn and a 350 lb DT rating.
Funding help for a mobility scooter in Ontario
Ontario's Assistive Devices Program (ADP) can fund 75% of the cost of a mobility scooter when the need is long-term and the scooter is prescribed through an assessment by an ADP-registered occupational therapist or physiotherapist, and some income-support programs cover the full cost. Not every scooter qualifies, so talk to us before you buy. March of Dimes Canada, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and community programs can also help. Westin Healthcare's staff work with these programs every week and will point you to the right route for your situation. Visit our funding page or call (905) 451-7743 to talk it through.
Delivery and setup in Brampton and the GTA
Westin's own team delivers and sets up the Fortress S410 across Brampton and the Greater Toronto Area. We bring it in, assemble it, and show you the tiller, charger, and freewheel lever before we leave.
We have three stores in the Brampton and Toronto area if you would rather see a 4-wheel everyday scooter first. For a scheduled in-home setup, call (905) 451-7743 and we will book the next date that works. Same-day delivery is offered through our hospital bed rental service; purchased scooters are delivered and set up on a scheduled date.
This mobility scooter is oversized. The Canada-wide free ground-shipping offer on smaller goods does not apply. If the scooter is going outside the GTA, ask us for a freight quote. Inside Toronto and the GTA, White-Glove Delivery (bring-in, unwrap, test, take packaging away) is described on the shipping policy. Any charge is confirmed on your order.

Service and warranty
When something on the scooter needs work, you call the shop that set it up, not a distant parts desk. Westin Healthcare has a service and repairs department. Our technicians come to the home or workplace.
Sunrise Medical Fortress warranty
The S410 brochure does not print a year table. The April 2021 matrix covers S425 and S700, not this model by name. Ask us which insert ships with your S410. We handle the claim with you. Ask us if an extended warranty is offered for your order.
